We have a show of your website section in order to do this. Simply dont go in that forum if you do ot wish to see other forum advertiments.

There's nothing wrong with advertising other forums? Banning advertising would just show paranoia if anything...

Please, the only forums that have the no other forums advertising rules are the tiny ones that are so horribly crap if a link to another were posted all the members would just leave, since there only there thruogh ingorance of decent ones existing.
Habbox may not be perfect, but its still quite capable of holding its own against nearly any other forum advertised.

True, but as pointed out there is a section for it, so it should be kept there.

Well it was made against the rules to advertise websites in spam awhile ago
so maybe people did not realise this.

As far as im aware it is kept there.
Keep in mind plenty of topics are posted in the wrong forums, and then later moved my mods. New members are often ignorant of the proper places to post, sometimes people just make mistakes. Point is, ive never seen any threads complaining about these appearing in this forum?

People should be able to advertise their site in this forum (http://www.habboxforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=45)
People who continuously post the same thread over and over again with the intension to spam the entire forum, may find themselves banned, but allowing members to advertise other sites and forums is a good thing. It doesn't restrict the posting versatility of members. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it, it's been around for ages as far as I know and it's not causing any problems.

The problem is not that we are afraid to loose users. It's just very annoying and a slap in our face to see some members using every opportunity they get to advertise their forum and saying it's better than this one.
I think it's good to make sure advertisements are limited to the forums where they are allowed, it will make a more pleasurable environment for everybody.

I can see your point, but that would really be covered by anti-spamming rules rather than anything to do with links would it not?

It depends how its advertised in the thread and if it was one member or a number of members posting the link all over. Sometimes it could be classed as spam and others not so better to just make sure they are in the correct forum/s where they can go.
