Hey I'm looking to buy my first car lol.

I don't pure have a budget or anything as of yet but I'm just generally browsing.

So please suggest to me some good cars which are reasonably priced and aren't far too dear.

Thanks a lot :)

Your not going to get an amazing looking car for your first...
Everyone is more than likely to crash at least once in their first car.

Lol ew thats ugly :P

Someone said classic cars are good. If you can get a dirty one they are cheap then clean it up, and you get classic car insurance which is cheap? idno someone said that to my bro the other week lol.

Renault Clio, 02 Reg or less with LOW milage (i.e. less than 50,000). You should be able to get one for about 1000-1200.

Dont spend more than 2000 on a car if it's your first :)

Also use Autotrader (http://www.autotrader.co.uk) - NOT ebay!

If you're going to get a classic as someone mentioned above, check the underside to make sure it's not rusted and check visible signs to make sure it's not a write off. (ie. overspray, un-nescessary welding, etc.)

but if you prefer a modern car, go for a fiesta, golf (or polo, if you prefer) something in the hot hatch category.

oh also, why not spend more than £2k on a first car? (above comment) - sure a large portion of people crash in their first year of driving but this is mostly people being overconfident when driving and ragging the car round corners.

Too bad it ain't the fastest car anymore :)

Try the Golf or the GTI... thats what I'm planning for my first car... Or I'll go for a Toyota Celica.

Fiesta's are always a good option, forgiving gear box and whats generally regarded as the best drive for any car in that class. They just look a little bland.

peugeut 207 ;)

Reason - Worked in garage for work experience and was reccomended that because of the low running costs and quite low repair.

i got a clio it was only £600 and it works smashing basil and not too bad for insurance, but thats the only drawback really - its a 1.4 so costs more to insure than a less powerful car

and you dont use ebay because its so easy to scam and also people have been like "k ill come meet u" and then they get robbed up

How much is the insurance on that and what reg is it?

And i's say a Clio or Corsa. 1.2 and how old depends on how much you want to spend.

m reg and its £70 a month i think with my mum as a named driver (cause that makes it cheaper)

friend of mine has this really crap car with 3 seats (no front passenger lol) and its a 0.8, must be like £4 a month i swear

Try looking at adverts in the Evening times or something, or get your local paper, they've usually got pages of cheapish cars
