A lot of people are asking about rating alterations properly, so I was wondering if anyone would use this as a scale:

0/10 - No effort whatsoever, probably little squiggles and saved as JPEG.
1/10 - Similar to 0/10 - Hardly any effort, maybe just a recolored all one colour habbo...
2/10 - possible a poorly shaded maybe isometric box. Maybe many pixel errors, maybe poor quality (JPEG)
3/10 - A bit better, the object is taking shape and maybe minor attempts at shading, but still hundreds of errors and mistakes - or all C+P.
4/10 - Shading makes a breakthrough here - but a lot of errors/poor detail and/or lack of imagination/effort.
5/10 - Your alt is Satisfactory. It isn't brilliant, but it's isometric (if needed) it's the right shape too. Harsh colours/pixel errors/stolen or C+P is common here too.
6/10 - The alteration now counts as good. It has nice colours to it, less C+P (although if pulled off C+P can look superb) and good shading.
7/10 - A nice alteration - Good detail, nice colours, brilliant idea/well pulled off. C+P can be used still to pull of good alterations
8/10 - Very Good Alteration - Nice detail, superb choice of colours, shaded well, more then a box, maybe complex shapes too.
9/10 - Amazing alteration - Brilliant detail, looks nice on the eye, perfect shading (but maybe a pixel error ;o)
10/10 - worthy of the status "elite". This alteration is flawless!

I don't care if you do or don't tho.

That's a useless guide you've wasted your time in my opinion, and you've used the word 'maybe' lots so this guide isn't very clear at all.

So supposing someone posts an alt, absolutely but they accidently left a black line going through it so I rate it 3/10 - in your little guide "the object is taking shape and maybe minor attempts at shading, but still hundreds of errors and mistakes" - just let people vote what they think

Poor.

For the idiots. You said let people vote what they think. That's why I put maybe to put in a lot of flexibility. I didn't waste my time, this has been on my PC since 2005 and a lot of people have said it's actually useful.

Like I said, I didn't care about your opinion. Its a Suggestion. NOT a forced event. So don't rate me bad because you suck at alterations. In my overveiw this rates all your alts perfectly.

0/10.

Isn't that nice.

Don't worry, he's always had something against me, any posts on a thread I've made are negative.

But never mind, it's a small online forum he's getting wound up on here.

I think its really well thought out and Its a good Idea, I think some people on this forum just dont have a life and feel the need to spend all day posting Mean, Spitefull and over-opinionated views because they have nothing nice to say...

I wouldn't say that they saved as a JPEG being a fault.
I can post jpegs with the max quality, which is better than anything else.
It just depends what program people use to save.

If you said "saved in bad quality". Then I'd agree..

Also, I think more people should say what to improve if they think it's rubbish. Rather than just putting "2/10".

JPEG is generally the worst quality there is. It's fine sortof when you save images in JPEG on vista paint, but when veiwed on an XP device it looks terrible.

It is a good guide but everybody's standards are different. Good graphics artists would be more critical than me who just knows whether I like the concept or not. I would not like to be restrained in what marks I give. :)
