Lycanthrope" is a song by the band +44 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%2B44_%28band%29). It was originally aired on the band's official website in late 2006 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006), giving fans their second taste of new music from the band, after the airing of the rough mix version of "No, It Isn't (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No%2C_It_Isn%27t)", also on their website. It is the first single by +44 to be released in the UK and has been released on 7" vinyl. It was ineligible to chart in UK Top 40 because it came with a free sticker.

that'd pretty much be the reason.

it encourages fans to buy the physical single instead of illeagal download because the fan gets something. and those fans probably wouldn't usually buy the cd.
