Well, this is a hard decision. Which is more important? Friends come and go and so do girlfriends. But girlfriends can be quicker then friends. I would do friends come first.

When I read the first post, I was originally going to say forget about her, friends are more important.
Then I read the other post, about your mate forcing you to choose, which isn't really something that a good friend would do. So at the moment I'd say forget about them both?

They split up because APPARENTLY she told him she liked another guy, but he was DEAD paranoid, and always had to know what she was doing, like checking up on her and stuff ? He had no trust for her at all.

He's annoying me atm, so I'm going to see what he does over the next few days.
