View Full Version : Madeleine's parents plan £2m film deal as Madeleine Fund dwindles

Kate and Gerry McCann could make £2million from a film deal over the story of their daughter's disappearance, it has been claimed. Representatives of the couple have begun negotiations with the world's largest entertainment agency, IMG, over selling the rights to their story ...
All the sympathy and sorrow I had for them has now vanished. How could any genuine grieving parents be looking for this sort money-making venture so soon after Madeleine's disappearance? It did take a while, but finally we have the full picture. It's all about "a wave of sympathy leading to more money coming in" isn't it? This is exactly what I have been expecting from these people. Whatever happened to Madeleine - they are not fit parents. They should never have left her in the first place and now, to make a film, well they are just utterly, utterly despicable.
Your thoughts on this? They make me sick. The true colours are now showing! Bright and clear.

Never sympathised with them in the first place. They may pocket 2 million but it won't bring their daughter back.. It would be even more sick if they were involved with the incident in the first place..

It doesn't say there that they've even considered it though.

That is just wrong...
IMO grieving parents would tell them to -BEEP- off.

Tbh i dont really know what makes the case so special, children go issing ALL the time and are never returned and dont get the world wide media hype that the McCans got, i think they should give up now, thy have had the whole world looking and yet she hasnt been found. Obvs they shouldnt totally give up but we dont want to know everything that happens in the case.

There you go. But umm, I think that a movie isn't going to help them find their daughter and I really don't think it'd solve anything such as accusations of them being involved. This just makes matters worse. It's almost a year, I'm not saying give up but it's time to give a lot of other missing children the spotlight. They need to be found too.

They are just bad pepole. They should never leave the kids espeically that age, and you certaintly DONT leave your kids alone in a Foreign country or place you dont know. There have been many reports in Mexico but its fake. Then again i cant say it's fake if i have no proof. I just hope she gets find. Because this is doing my heading. Everytime i open the news paper i see them.

I won't be watching it either.
I remember when I told my mum I thought it was her parents' fault.
Me: I have no sympathy for them, they shouldn't have left her on her own in the first place.
Mum: I know but she's only a little child, George!
It went something more or less like that -_-'

Are they dumb? They seriously have no proof whether she's alive.. or dead for that matter. So why would they do this :S.

Right, they have actually said 'THERE WILL BE NO FILM ABOUT THE STORY', this is just the media carrying the story on well after they've said no.
Also, everyone knows the story. No one will watch it.

Also, everyone knows the story. No one will watch it.Lots of people feel sorry for them and are very interested by the story, that's why the media keep reporting it, Madeline McCan sells papers is the bottom line.
They are just bad pepole. They should never leave the kids espeically that ageI'm not sure that they're bad people, one's a cardiologist (Specialized Doctor) and a normal GP, I'm sure they've helped thousands of people in their lives and I don't think they're that bad people really, however they could be classed as 'sick' or 'stupid' people, for the reasons you've stated.
Tbh i dont really know what makes the case so special, children go issing ALL the time and are never returned and dont get the world wide media hype that the McCans gotThey have a absolutely huge family, they where constantly hassling the Media to put the Limelight on the story and focus their attention on it. They actually inflicted the attention on themselves, since then people find out about it and are aware of it.
The thing people are forgetting is that the McCans are still SUSPECTS. And rightly so too in my opinion!

Is it actually a film? It's a documentry isn't it, like ones on Channel 4? I would say there isn't anything wrong with that although I can see this dragging out again through 2008 and I wish people would shutup about it, but yeah. I don't mind a documentry, stating how they have been through and more information on what has happened etc but a 'movie' is just wrong and I wouldn't get it? I don't get why people are saying film, movie etc it's only a documentry or have I got wrong end of stick?

You can look at it in two ways. One, they are making alot of money from their miss-hap. Two, they improve the awareness of their daughters dissapearence and could open up more leads helping their case.

I tell you a documentry/film I would watch, I'd be straight to the box office.

There is no reason why the couldnt leave the kids with a child minder, money is no option to them because they have well paid jobs. They say the never wanted to leave the kids with a stranger, thats aload of crap. They were just being stingy were their money and look were that got them. I'd rather leave my kid with a stranger than leave them alone were thier Vaunaluble.

Just hypocrites lol.
I was reading The Sun today and there was a story in it about a look-a-like agency who were renting out a "maddie double" to star in a film, & the McCanns gave a statement saying "This is a shameless money making scheme.. her actions are disgraceful, dishonest and offensive".
So in other words it's alright for the McCanns to make money out of it, but if anyone else tries to it's disgraceful

However you can't just tell the British Press to go away if you where asking for them a few months ago, it's not how it works.
It's like Jade Goode wants all this attention on herself, and then when they write bad stuff and constantly harass her, she then doesn't want them. You have to prepare yourself for the worst and not for them to go away, it's the price you pay for the Press doing you a favour. They asked for it, they got it and now the Press are trying to make money out of them by making rumours about them, however the Press are still keeping her very much in the Lime light at the end of the day.

How do you know they havem't got to pay off their house? How can you guess that they are rich? They could have massive debts for all we know. How could you get a childminder in Portugal anyway?

The difference is looking for a little girl and making nasty stories which aren't true. Big difference between the two.

Big difference between the two. They asked for the Press, the Press came and took a gamble, it paid off, and now they're having field days (Weeks, months, years). You can't just say 'Yeah come on give us attention, wait... can you go away now?'

I have little sympathy for the parents, considering they left them in a roon on their own in a country they are not totally familiar with, with no one looking after them (even telling the hotel would of been a clever idea). All they did was walk out and claim the children were checked on by themselves every couple of minutes. No one does that during a dinner meal other than in films which normally include a man dressing like a woman who has to be a man at the same time
