Some articles ive read posted by superfly-dan seem to be quiet offensive towards alot of people on habbo and alot of people do take offence from comments like his and articles like this will go against habbox's rep.

What he is saying in his article may be true but i think that it could be toned down a bit. Ye people like a rant and a rave but people do take things personally.

Lonely and ugly people are no different

they don’t have any real friends

People who also go on Habbo in search of “a fit gf” are also lonely and ugly.

Runescape is for nerds

big time geeks that bring in apples for their school teachers

These people are boring and they like to pretend that they are the small alien character from Lord of the Rings

then these ‘activities’ around Habbo are immature and, without a better word than ‘Babyish’

These are just some comments from one article that some people may find very offensice towards them. And before people do say, i do play habbo and runescape and im not posting this because i find them offensive im posting because i play them, i know alot of people will find it offensive.

Super-Dan? Who? Never heard of him... But those comments are stupid and just for the sake of it, I'm going to beleive he is what he has mentioned in that article. A nerd, ugly and lonely.

I do agree it's quite offensive, but it is also clear to me that he is giving his own opinion about things, especially since it says "Each week superfly-dan vents his opinions ...".

I don't see a problem with it really. As stated above its he's personal opinion on topics we all encounter on a daily basis. Also, people are not forced to view these articles. However, I do agree they could be toned down a lot more. I think a better approach would be to single out negative topics everyone can relate to and will agree with. Eg: War in Iraq, famous people, politics, politicians, matters affecting society etc.

Just make him write in big letters "this article may offend some users"

Agreed but surely Habbox should not let any of its staff write articles that a lot of its members, particuarly Runescapers and Habbo members would find offensive?

If these opinions were against Habbox Staff I dont think it would be allowed.
(please note example only) ' All Habbox Admin are Nerds. '

In addition they are completely subjective, totally stereotypical and not worthy of being on the front page of Habbox.Com IMHO.

I dont think it could be put any better. And even though it may be his opinions sometimes people need to learn to keep their mouth closed some times. Im not saying dont have an opinion but you could do it in away which wouldnt offend users.

Like i said, i do agree with some of the times that he write but seeing as he is staff what he writes can be written in different ways to get his opinions across.

That sums up my thoughts pretty conclusively.

Everything will be found offensive by some people. With that in mind, the policy for habbox articles atm is do not worry about accidentally offending people, but do not purposely write to offend people. But this article clearly oversteps that boundry, I see very little justification for saying that people who play habbo are sad and ugly, especially on a habbo fansite! The issue will be resolved post-haste :)

When I joined Habbox, I had an aim; I wanted to write articles that were entertaining, interesting and contreversial. I wanted them to be Jeremy Clarkson-esque and quite Grumpy Old Men.
However, after seeing that it was taken down and having seeing this thread and then me reading the article over myself, I realised this week's article can be and is overly offensive to Runescape and Habbo users. I suppose I am calling myself 'nerdy' in a way, I am a Habbo user myself, and I therefore would like to apologise for any offence caused to anyone. If I wasn't the writer I would've said that it was out of order myself. I'm not however changing my opinion on Habbo and Runescape users but next time I want to voice it, it will be toned down dramatically.

Jeremy Clarkson is normally witty when he blerts out alot of nonsense. He normally makes it obvious that it's not meant to offend people. You need to work on it a little, like back up why Runescapers are nerds (or whatever) and in a way make yourself look dumb (which Jeremy does) by mis-pronouncing goblins or runes to make it sound strange. If you get me? It may be interesting :P

Already got ya there, I dunno if you seen the article or not, but I said 'Runesmash' and 'MyFace'...
And I do agree that it was a little overly offensive, I mean, it was meant to be offensive but there was a line and I crossed it. I'm working on a new one now.
