I have the same problem, you are not with HSBC by chance?
I believe you have to ring them up but I cba. Hopefully it will be on my next statement.
Its a 8 digit number (XXXXXXXX). Mine is printed on my Visa debit card and it appears on my bank statements. Also if I login to online banking it displays it there.

My post still stands. You have to ring them.
"† Your security number is a 6-10 digit number chosen by you, which you may have already used to identify yourself to us over the phone. If you don't have a security number, you can call us set one up now on 08457 400 004 (or Textphone 18001 08457 125 563) or +44 1142 031106 from outside the UK. Lines are open 8am to 10pm every day (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day). To help us continually improve our service and in the interests of security, we may monitor and/or record your telephone calls with us."

I had to enter my account number on the previous page, and i know what that number is. In order to proceed the seccon part of the registration i need a security number.
Parasite, does it say anything about cost for texting?

its not a premium number i know that, its either free or normal charge (whatever your phone server offered)
at the begining it is, it should give two options, use the relevant one and then it will transfer you to a person

It's the number you chose when first creating your account with HSBC at your local HSBC bank. If you did not choose one, ring the number and choose one. When you register you will receive a laminated piece of paper through the post which will have an Internet Banking Number on it, keep it safe and out of others peoples site. You will use this to login, along with your security number and date of birth.
That isn't the security number mat.
