"From what we're told, the best way to get this port back on track is to show Microsoft and Nintendo how badly you want it. If it all comes down to money, show 'em that you want to give yours. As soon as we hear anything more, we'll let you know." -1up"

This is stupid, they dont even own the rights to James Bond anymore. Also 'Show Microsoft and Nintendo' whats it got to do with them?

It's gotta come to either the Nintendo VC or the Xbox arcade, I seriously doubt it will come to both and I'd say it would come to the xbox arcade since Microsoft now own Rare unless since it has been noted it was one of the best nintendo console games ever they are kind enough to let the VC have it.

I dont see why theres such big hype around it. At its time it was the best shooting game by a long shot and still is my favirote but if you play it now it really isnt that great.

I don't know what Nintendo have to do with it but Microsoft have considered it, they had a meeting with Rareware, Activision and MGM Studios
They also want to bring the original Perfect Dark to the 360 aswell as Banjo Kazooie
I loved golden eye If it comes on xbl would be great imo :)

How do you know all of this? There are no issues with copyright with perfect dark and Banjo kazooie so if they really wanted too they could. I have been an avid Rareware fan since snes days. The latest scribes on Rarewares site has lots of people asking for goldeneye etc and they didnt mention meeting with anyone about it.
Just because they don't mention it doesn't mean it didn't happen

They say they found evidence but dont mention any, there has been a rumour going around and I'm not saying it wont happen but you said 'Microsoft have considered it, they had a meeting with Rareware, Activision and MGM Studios' When you dont know that atall, there is no evidence for it.

Maybe you should stop assuming that this isn't a possibility, that's just a news article about it, they don't always include evidence, if they say this meeting took place maybe you should just take their word for it instead of assuming that this is just a rumour
I mean seriously, what harm can come from just believing something is true?
Just because you "follow Rareware" it doesn't mean you know everything they do so maybe you should just leave it alone

Rumour - a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation as to facts.
Have any of the companies involved confirmed it? No. Have we seen evidence? No. You said it was a fact that they had met when you dont know that atall. 'Microsoft have considered it, they had a meeting with Rareware, Activision and MGM Studios'

"Microsoft have considered it" was what I wrote, look up "Considered" in the dictionary, you'll see it means "given thought too" it doesn't mean "that game would be good" Goldeneye to the 360 is a popular belief, obviously Microsoft will look into it, think carefullly before posting, MS want money, what better way to make money than to market a game everyone wants, set up a meeting with Activision (because they own James Bond games now) the original devs (Rareware) and MGM studios (in charge on James Bond movies)
Not once did I say this WILL happen, which is why a petition was created in the hopes Microsoft will notice how many people want this game on the arcade, maybe if you thought about that first instead of saying it probably wont happen just because you see no evidence, evidence is to prove something is true or will happen, this isn't a "this IS going to happen"
It's a "this MIGHT happen"

No I wasnt on about that, I was on about the fact that you said they HAD a meeting.
No I wasnt on about that, I was on about the fact that you said they HAD a meeting.
And you assume it didn't happen due to lack of evidence, but you've got no evidence it didn't happen, evidence isn't always nessercary, they're not gonna tell us everythng because we don't need to know

Surely it will appear in the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console, considering the Golden Eye title first appeared on the Nintendo 64? Putting it on the Xbox 360 would be slightly pointless considering most Xbox gamers probably don't even know what the game is about (working off the film, it's different). Yes, N64 may have an Xbox 360, but most N64 owners own a Wii if they liked the titles on the N64...
I suppose it all depends on what the company that own the rights to Golden Eye think.
I really couldn't care less anyway xD It wasn't even that good lol

I loved it, but I bet it won't be as fun on a Wii or 360 :P

I cant say for a fact it didnt happen which is my point, hence it being a rumour....
Anyway if Nintendo and Microsoft couldnt agree of proceedings why not bring it to 360 AND wii ;). I suppose it could involve nintendo because they used the N64 development kit to make it and remaking the game would obviously defeat the point.

Rare stated there is a possibility that Banjoo Kazooie and Goldeneye may be coming to VC

Yea but bringing Goldeneye to VC will probably bring up the same problem as the 360 version

Is this about Goldeneye 007 on the N64? If so...
Nothing will be done unless Microsoft and Nintendo make and agreement, which is unlikly.

Why would it be released on the Xbox Arcade if it was never released on a Microsoft console? Microsoft own Rare, yes, but they didn't when the game was released on the N64. They don't own Goldeneye 007.
It can't be released on one or the other, either both or none.
I don't understand, what have Nintendo got to do with it :S

No, the company is owned by Microsoft, Nintendo must have some rights to the game. It was on Nintendo's console, not Microsoft's. They can't just steal the game away and put it on something else.

That still makes no sense, the game is owned by Rare, they should be allowed to do anything they want because it's their game, it was just released on the N64 because Nintendo owned Rare back then, that shouldn't change anything because Activision own the right to use James Bond 007 in game titles and Rare own the game so I really can't see why Nintendo should have any involvement at all

The game was...
Developed by Rare.
Published by Nintendo.
Yeah, exactly. Nintendo owned Rare back then and they made games for Nintendo. So they can't just take the games they made for Nintendo and put them on a Microsoft console.
Because the games were made for Nintendo, I think that gives Nintendo more rights. Otherwise Rare wouldn't have said this:
"As for VC, it’s ultimately Nintendo’s decision what gets released,"
Activision, huh? What have they got to do with this.

Activision own the rights to publish games under the name "James Bond 007"
