My school has AB Tutor Control.
It SOOKS! Teachers can take over your mice (Like Remote Assistance, but they dont need your permission) turn off the Internet to just your machine and lock both, your keyboard and screen (Making it display a message like ATTENTION!)
Does your school have any?
Yep, we have ranger remote control, its like they dont trust us or stuff ;)

RM Tutor 3.
RM tutor 2 used to be easy to get out of, ctrl, alt & del, log out, then log back in.
But that's patched now I think.. Been ages since we've had it used on us anyway!

Yeah teachers can take over your pc at my 6th form. Now though it's sooo strict; everything is blocked. Like any site that has a game on is blocked, you can't even type "game" into google without getting a message that says "access denied" or something lol.

Is that all? Ours have filtered Mobile phones, everything to do with mobile phones.
They've tried to filter as many game sites as possible, they even filter some blog-like sites (geekologie, for example)

Nope, I just don't go on the computers at 6th form much anymore :P. Basically I think they've made it so you can only go on educational sites and they watch what you're on so if you did get lucky and find a site that wasn't blocked it wouldn't stay that way for long.

Haha, when I went to school we had that. I didn't know then one day I was playing a game and a message came up saying 'Do you want me to phone your dad about this?' and it had the number below. I was like wth? My ICT teacher always did enjoy phoning parents. When he went out of the room we used to muck around with next doors computers. :P Shuting them down while people were working and stuff. :P Good times. :8
In my secondary school we had RM, I spent most my time there making work arounds for the system which got me into a lot of trouble but made me very profitable.
Rm had all these quirky mod cons like remote assistance and lock pc.
Then in college we used linux then switched to windows server 2003, there was nothing like that but I put that down to us being mature and no one ever needing to enforce that power.
At work we use windows server 03 too, but I dont think teachers can do any of these fancy control of system. Though sys admin can boot people off.

Where I am in Australia. Our school doesn't give all teachers that kind of access, only Network Administrators do such as the Librarian and IT teachers since most of the teachers in the other faculties don't like/know how to use the software correctly, only basic stuff. But they don't give them access for that.
I've never actually heard of anyone being 'taken over' while at the computer, only filtering websites that they go on or ban the student's internet account. I've known about it, but haven't really thought about asking what type of software they use for that as no one seems to use it. I mean, they probably have, but not heard of it happen. Not around my year group, anyway.

Ours had NetOp & AB Tutor Control. Both of them were irritating hehe, but I remember once we found a way to stop it. I can't remember what it was now... We'd always get around the filters put on us haha.

RM Tutor 3, but it's easy to work around. Depending on your school settings, non-staff accounts can access the program by typing the location of the EXE in your IE address bar.
RM Tutor 3, but it's easy to work around. Depending on your school settings, non-staff accounts can access the program by typing the location of the EXE in your IE address bar.
On top of that, those opting for ICT with edexcel will be granted "advanced user" permissions to enable them to run macros. This gives you "run" in your start menu so you can access command prompt.
One tip,
Any exe can be stored from an external device into C:\ and also can be run on C:\
RM doesnt prevent execution from the terminal hard disk which is a big security flaw.

LanSchool is the worst invention ever. Our school can see what files we have been on, what websites, how much paper we have used printing things out. They can block our screens, watch what we're doing, take control of our screens, log us off etc. Not only that but literally every website is blocked. We can't get onto wikipedia because it is classed as "personal pages" you can't get on to goverment sites because it is classed as "politics". Oddly enough you can get videos from googlevideo.com rather than UK...and you can look up rude images on .com .. just not UK (thats banned too) haha.
yeah, but it doesn't bother me because I don't play sad little games in the lesson.

Yeah, we have NetOP. It's quite annoying, since when one of our teachers tells us to listen, and we don't, she locks our computers, which gives us a white screen with a padlock in the middle, lol.
Yeh, but i close mine with a secret and disable there proxy blocker with Command Prompt xD

Our school has Viglen Classlink, and the internet block is horrible :( You can even search or visit a url with things like ps3, xbox, nokia, vodaphone.. ect in it.
We have one in our college, but last time our tutor did it, it froze all of our computers so he hasn't used it since :p

We have a system called Securus, and it monitors your PC and takes screen caps without you knowing.
At first, it did have a blocker when you were looking at inappropriate things, which could only be unblocked by Staff.
That was until an English teacher stupidly told the password to a member of Yr 11 who was obviously going to tell everyone it.
The password was "Qualitystreet".
[MODS you can remove that last line if you think it's not needed]

Yeah, they can view our screens all at once, for istance, some kid playing games and the rest on word, not hard to spot. Then they can log on to his account, stop him etc.
It sucks when trying to do tasks like play games when you've finished and you're asked to double check it all etc.
