Well I noticed when threads are been closed mods arn't posting a notice in the thread stating the reason it has been closed. Just like to let you know..

Edited by opensourcehost (Forum Super Moderator): Thread closed to prevent further off-topic/pointless posting.

That's a good idea, especially if the moderator is new - (s)he may have forgotten. Once they're reminded with a friendly PM they'll remember. :)

in addition to the above posts, i dont see why a thread needs to be made about it here if it has only been done once.

Links to example threads of this occurring would be nice so we can sort it out ;).

I have seen a couple of threads closed without a reason.

Yes, there is a reason they where closed, but there isn't a reason stated.

Maybe they had VIP.

Maybe the thread starters closed them?

Hmm since when do VIPs who close their own threads have to add their own edits? :P.

Yea, they might have done, but if they didn't the mod needs to be aware of closure notices.

As said before, it could have been a VIP who closed the thread. Also, it it usually due to arguments or lots of rule breaking. Other than that it could be a non-public reason.

Ah ok.

Just didn't want any mods to get warnings if they had to put a notice on a thread. I don't know the moderating rules so I won't know.

All I've seen in this thread is one person saying something and then 20 people repeating it.

Yeah, but some mods give infractions when its spose to be warning and some mods also accuse people of reversing moderators actions.

To be honest I think half of these threads are people just trying to nitpick any little flaw out of nothing.

its all good

no i meant someone saying something.. then someone in this thread repeating it then another person repeating it etc

Like one person says "Oh maybe a mod etc etc"
then the next person says "as stated before, maybe a mod"
then the next "maybe a mod"

then a change ! :o
"Maybe the person was VIP"
next: "As stated before the person could be VIP"
next: "Yeah the person was probably VIP"

etc...................

It's all any "help" thread ever has.
