I think this is more of a U.S. thing, I'm pretty certain that it's different in the UK.
Anyway, can I rent any movie, regardless of what it's rated, if I use the card which is registered in my dad's name? (who is obviously able to rent anything), if he isn't there?
thanks.

If say you was 15 wanting an 18 film, you would still need someone who is 18 or older.
So if you aren't old enough you need someone you know who is.

You'd still need to have someone at that age with you when you get the dvd, because otherwise you'd have loads of 15 year olds renting 18 movies using their parents card.

I don't even think blockbusters' have it..
They probably do but if you tried the 17 for an 18 movie i'm sure it'd work.

This is in Canada so it should be the same as the US, anyways I tried renting Hannibal recently and I was alone using my moms card, they needed to call her confirming I was allowed to rent it.

I wouldn't rent with blockbuster, they are way more expensive than all the other DVD rental shops and postal services and because of this one of their biggest stores went bust and I never see anyone in a blockbuster each time I walk past one.

Yeah they check IDs but in NI xtravision is what its called and it's basically a bunch of mid life crisis people behind the counter so you can get 18's if your 12.
