According to the New York City Police Department (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_Police_Department), Ledger was found dead in an apartment owned by Mary-Kate Olsen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary-Kate_Olsen), in the SoHo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SoHo) neighborhood of Manhattan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhattan) on January 22 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/January_22), 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008), at the age of 28. He was found face down with pills near his body, and police report that they have no reason at this stage to suspect foul play.

for those who dont know, he was "Ennis del Mar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ennis_del_Mar)" in brokeback mountain, and is the joker for the upcoming batman sequel, the dark night.

ive never seen any film with him in, but i was looking forward to seeing his rendition of the joker.

I love 10 Things I Hate About You & Knights Tale. It's shocking to hear that he has passed away, it just seems so unexpected. But, apparently there was pills at the scene so they think it's something to do with drugs and overdose.

not sure the term passed away makes sense considering he was 28, and it was a suicide
