First of all, I would like to say I am a Paramore fan. I saw them live at the Civic Hall last year and own both their albums but...

I find it a bit annoying when bands re-release songs because they think it's the best song they have and by re-releasing a good song it will get more people interested in them.

will they be re-doing it? or just putting it right back out again?

They are doing a signing at leicester hmv, and I wondered why it said "their new single, misery business". I guess it's because they are more recoqnised now, so they are rereleasing their songs for more money or something?

Ha.
My mate heared this from a friend awhile ago and told me about it, which then made me look into it.

I could only find something about it on wiki.
The cover for the CD is apparently going to be a photo from a photoshoot they used to promote the AWKIF album.
Also it would have been posted on www.paramore.net (http://www.paramore.net) and there would be threads on it on the fan club boards which there is not.

Unless you have some solid evidence I don't believe it's being re-released.

Sorry just looking at the photo again, it wasn't used to promote the AWKIF album it was taken around the time of AWKIF.

i think bands re-releasing stuff is lame.
the only exception i could think of is if a band self-prodeced and released their own album, but then signed onto a label and then recorded it with bigger producers and the like.

it's probably their label doing it, not them.

i'm sorry but people like you annoy me with the line you put "more people will get into them" you make out like "I found them first, find your own band"..

people who have not heard of them deserve the chance.. i'm sure they will release more singles, but for now they chose their best song to re-release to make people get into them.

Good luck to them.

I never claimed to be the first to like them? They want more people to get into them as more fans = more money and more support.

i think the only point of ever re-releasing something is when there is going to be some afterthought or nostalgic view, or when it offers more and depending on conditions, when they go to a new label. this goes for both singles and albums.

but alex is probably right, they're on a major label, so it's probably the label's wishes.

Hmm, im a paramore fan aswell :) i think this will be quite sucessful as it is one of their best songs. for example its recently always being in kerrangs Top 10 Overdrive every night.

There is no definate proof that the single is getting re-released, your right about that but there is a hell of alot of rumours going around about it.

I know i shouldnt compare Paramore to the Plain White T's but look at them for example. Their single "Hey There Deliah" was released about 2 years ago not, but didnt gain much interest so they re-released it. i can also say the same for their single "Hate" it was released back in 06 but did you ever see it advertised as i certainly didnt, where as now its on most of the music channels.

yeah, but there's the difference; "misery business" was already massively popular. everyone in the target audience has heard it, i dont know what re-releasing it, especially so soon, would do.

"I find it a bit annoying when bands re-release songs because they think it's the best song they have and by re-releasing a good song it will get more people interested in them."

Why is it annoying that more people like them then?

it isn't "just a rumour", and that isn't a photo from around the time of AWKIF, it's pretty recent.

i don't see the point because it was only out 8-9 months ago, but the label probably just want to try and get more money out of the song as it is paramore's best selling single.

i think it's just a badly worded sentence that he wrote. i think it's part of the "they think" clause. it should be "it's annoying because they think that it will get more people interested in them." he's not annoyed with the fact that more people are/will be interested, but that paramore (or their label) think that it will get more people interested when it's really just pointless butchering.
