You have to understand that the face the greatest musicians in the world breaking up is hard for me to take.

As far as I can tell it's rumours, I wouldn't believe the media until they announce it on their offical website or MySpace (both I checked and neither had it, unless I missed it).

Unfortunately for some of you... they aren't splitting up :( They're just rumoured to be changing record labels after their next album is done with to escape the "boy band" tag they're branded with apparently.
