Omg. Did you know they are proposing Saturday Detentions here?

I think it will straighten kids out, if this comes into place the behavior is going to improve!

Whats your views on this? And sorry if its already been posted.

If you're late 3 times in a week you get a Saturday detention.

Do people actually show up though? And what time are they?

I've never heard of them.. but a Saturday detention would suck. ;l

i've had a meeting on a saturday once, to see if i was getting excluded or not.
we only have after school detentions, you only get that if you failto turn up on your afternoon ones.

Yeah people do turn up because if you don't you get an hours detention everyday after school for the following week and another Saturday detention.

I'm not too sure of the times, but I think it's from 8:30am to around 10am.

That sounds like quite a good idea... Would stop peopel misbehaving
People probably wouldnt turn up
they'd blame it on over sleeping or something.
Being one not to get detentions i would love to see this happen ;)

I think Saturday detentions are a little harsh. An hour or so after school seems to be enough.

Around here, nothing about "Saturday Detentions" I hardly think any of the teachers would want to come in on a Saturday either. We do have after school detentions though.

A few schools around here do Saturday detentions, glad i've never had one. I think it's a good idea until you get one, it won't stop people from misbehaving because the sort of people who deserve saturday detentions wouldn't even turn up half the time anyway.

My school does saturday detentions. If you get three sanctions or a couple of department detentions a letter gets sent home explaining that yuo'll be in school for an hour on friday or saturday. The bad thing is if you get a saturday detention you have to come in full school uniform!

they say the 'have the power' to give one at our school, however, noone ever gets one. Like any teacher would want to come in on a Saturday.

We don't have them, if we did I wouldn't go.

They think they can waste my time off? Forget it. We have after school detentions, but I've never got one of those.

What a joke.

My school doesn't have Saturday detentions... usually just after school or if you're lucky at lunch and they are normally 30 mins long depending on the teacher. Some teachers see that you took the time to show up so they just let you off (usually because the detentions are from something not that serious) and yea

I tell my school to stick their Saturday detentions where the sun doesn't shine. I go watch Cardiff on a Saturday so they might need to pay for my ticket.

Lord please don't let this come to Canada. I've never gotten a detention before only at 10-minute recess for being late three times. But, I think this would deter people from misbehaving, etc. Maybe.
