If you were to have a conversation with a member of staff, or even management on MSN where you believed the staff member violated rules, is it against the rules to include this chatlog in a PM to a member of staff in charge of the member who broke the rules?
VPSwow

Not if its sent to a Manager via PM however MSN chatlogs can be changed so it isnt really solid proof.

Well if it's on msn, then its really nothing to do with Habbox and its unfair for them to dictate what they should or shouldn't do in their staffs own personal time. But if the staff are talking about how they have broken Habbox rules then I guess so.

WTH are you on about? Habbox dont own live messenger, hence there rules dont apply on that network. Just becuse someones staff on habbox doesnt mean there bound by habboxs rules in there everyday life. If you have a problem with someone on msn block them instead of wineing here >.<
Staff members dont have authority on msn, so there aint alot that can abuse.

I think he's stating should people be punished for making a complain about a member of staff, even if the complaint is made because of something outside of the forum.
It certainly shouldn't be punished, because there's nothing in the rules stating against it.

Put it this way:
If I was a department manager, and I said to you "I'll give you this job if you give me a throne" on msn
Would that be worthy of a report?
VPSwow

Yes i would report it, unless it was sarcastic.
Chat Logs are just text files and can easily be edited.
The only proof can be sound :p

Even if it was sarcastic, if you didn't know it was it would still be worth a report, it would just get sorted out.
Without of course, the user who reported getting banned.

If the conversation was on Habbo it would be no different, it's not where it's being said, its what is being said.

I'm sure if someone was hired by giving a throne, then they'll probably be found out if they do an incredibly crap job. But if they do a good job, what's really bad about that? Habbox needs more good staff members :P

It's bribery.
It's also taken in the context of:
"No you cannot have any job at Habbox.. well if you give me a throne you may be allowed this job..."

Look around the bribery part, if they do a good job then there's nothing really to complain about. Especially when chat logs are easily edited and you cannot prove someone is paying to work for Habbox, unless you have solid evidence. It's like reporting someone who paid to work at McDonalds. If they do a crap job they'll be fired but if they do a good job then they'll be kept on.
If they do a crap job, they'll be fired anyway.

The person may have done a very good job.
That doesn't matter, the fact is that the person with authority is only offering the job if they are given something. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's not how habbox works.

What staff say on and off the record are completely different things. I know a couple of staff who have said things that they wouldnt have said otherwise on msn, if I reported them I would be simply laughed at and told not to be a poo stirrer. Or at least I hope I would. If one of Bill Gates's employees said he hated Microsoft to a friend, and the friend told Mr Gates, I don't think he'd be much bothered.

Yes but what was said on MSN actually directly affects Habbox.

You can include MSN chatlogs in a PM to a member of management. You will not get in trouble for that. However whether it will be accepted as solid proof is questionable. It depends on how solidly you can verify it, however chances are around 80% that you won't get someone fired on chatlogs, chances are like 20% that you might get them warned.
However the rule with MSN is that the only way that a complaint can be even looked into is if they're talking as a member of Habbox Staff. For example, if I tell you that you're a bleeping ****** as nvrspk4, I'm in the clear. If I tell you that because you're such a bleeping ******, you'll never work at Habbox again, I'm saying that as nvrspk4 the Habbox Manager, and I might get in trouble for that.

Um, you can solidly prove things said on MSN if you use MSN Plus and have .XML chatlogs because those are typically uneditable.

I wouldn't think it's fair, because you don't know if it's 100% true and plus it's MSN and has nothing to do with Habbox. That's a personal account dealing with off habbox type of things.

At the end of the day I got banned (on every account + IP ban) for sending Sierk a PM including an MSN conversation of MAD bribing me in the name of Habbox.
Nvrspk has told me what I wanted to hear, this thread has served it's purpose.

That's a load of rubbish in all fairness.
99.999999999999% of company owners/directors/management know what everybody else in the team has said.
Via staff meeting, the fact you compared companies to HXF is rather bazaar as habboxforum are not a company and can't be put up against one.
This forum would fail pretty bad if it was a company. Lol, thinking about it is actually funny.
Anyways, it just shows you the communication levels within HXF.

I think Nvr has been very brave entering this discussion. I doubt MAD or Sierk will change their views about chatlogs though. They have always pretty consistent in saying they can't be used.

I think that a little knowledge can be dangerous when the person delivering it states 100% that all companies are like that. Every company makes mistakes but it does not mean that there is absolutely no communication or they wouldn't be profitable companies. I think you are referring to perhaps a few occasions that involve you or your family personally. I also think that unless you have been abused verbally via MSN then yes you would think that :)

Oli, I have been there done that and worn the same Tshirt more than once. Probably best to let it go - its not even worth it. You know its a very tough call to make. You know what you believe but without rock solid evidence its difficult to do anything. You must see Sierk's point of view on this?

Thats a different story, thats a real company thus the rules are different, at habbox they dont make you sign anything saying you cannot sell this or that to anyone without 'x' permission. We simply have rules for Habbox, yes Habbox not MSN.

Well it does matter for those who are effected by it - these are people we are talking about who have feelings. I don't think any of the management here would say it doesn't matter and I am sure they do care but the issue is proving the allegations to be true and they have to be 100% sure and there is a possibility that a chatlog could be faked even if it is a small possibility. I am getting a bit fed up of your  which appear in a lot of your replies - I really don't think a member of staff should appear be constantly sarcastic whether you actually mean to be or not.
You'll find i said "most".
Sorry I can see no foundation for even saying 'most' when all you have to offer is a few personal occasions when you or your family have had problems.

That may be but generally what i see is trying to be said here is to allow chat logs as proof in certain issues such as this, but i've been in convos before on msn with senior managment and they act other on there to habbox (can you blame them?) and they'll often tell you to "**** off" as in the rude way but its not on habbox so it doesnt really matter
Though that was a pure example what does happen in the past might not now / dont know / doesnt have senior managment on msn anymore. :)
Either way MAD wont be removed, neither will Sierk mind as he does his job, and he's alright at it.

I'm not being rude to managment, hell no. I simply mean its happened in the past (as in when jackhb was admin) back in them days, i havent noticed any managment rude on msn as simply i dont have any, the only time i have is when ive been asked to do tasks by MAD/Joshuar, other then that they have been perfectly friendly to me.
I guess its more how you treat them is how you'll get treated back, i dont wish to take sides on either matter as i dont really know the full story on whats happened so i cant comment on any of the matter apart from i think Hecktix you should discuss it with Sierk via PM and see what happens, if nothing then end it there, Sierk was told and it was down to him.
