US President George W Bush has said his $3.1 (£1.6) trillion budget will boost national security while stimulating economic growth.
The plan includes the $145bn economic stimulus plan recently agreed with Congress, as well as $70bn to continue funding wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Against a worsening economic backdrop, it forecasts a deficit of over $400bn. "Our budget protects America and encourages economic growth. Congress needs to pass it," Mr Bush said.
Unbelievable amount of money I must say. Tax payers must be going crazy now.
Thoughts?

Well, thats $70 billion spent on Iraq, highly predictable, but with the glodal economy mushing up and reccession looming, the "economic plan" seems alright.

Its the government, they can spend it on what they want >.<
"Sigh" if only America was a peaceful country, instead of retaliating, England wouldn't be dragged in either.

Not to fuel wars in Iraq thats what they're for.Well if they don't want their tax spent on 'Fuel Wars' in Iraq then they shouldn't of voted in George W Bush and the Republicans? It is a democracy you know, I'm sure most American's back the war anyway.

i love how they just throw these numbers out. there would be no difference in the amount of shock if it were 3 trillion or 300 trillion, as both are just arbitrary and ridiculous numbers.
