Can you leave a lava lamp on for too long... like can the glass smash?


myne has been on for like 7 hours so i turned it off just then :S

I don't think so. Some people probably leave them on all the time. They get very hot though.

Your not meant to leave it on for excessive times. Not sure what that is though.

I dunno if it smashes or not. When I got my lava lamp, the warnings & precations leaflet instructed not to leave it on for more than 8 hours. Not sure if it said why, probably did I just didn't read it.

i suppose the hotness wont be good for it... you should turn it off and let it cool down for a while.

Its wax isnt it, melted wax, goes hard at the top because its cold, hot at bottom because of the light

Mine says don't turn it on for max 9 hours so I guess there is a limit.

No because as it gets colder towards the top, it goes hard and solid is more heavier than liquid
