Habbox.eu :s Feedback

I go away for just over 3 weeks and now habbox.com has changed to habbox.eu :s i would search the staff forums but really cant be bothered.
I know .com redirects but changing something that was fine as it was is one of the stupidest ideas I have come across. Buy habbox.eu and direct it to habbox.com sure but the other way around? i think somebody needs drug testing. A name that would be remembered by most habbo users from past to present gets changed :s great idea.

My feedback is its a stupid change.

They changed it to www.habbox.eu because of server problems. When the server problems were corrected it was redirected to www.habbox.com, but when this happened www.habbox.com has always redirected to www.habbox.eu ever since. So I'm unsure on why?

Habbox Management do first, think later. Although I suppose it's a bit mean directing the blame to Management. The bame is with the people who thought it up, so I imagine the GM and Owner. Stupid change and ideas, as ever.

If it was to sort out a server issue then I understand but if it was not you don't change something that is so popular and well known all around the world. ***.

Server problems prevented Habbox.com from loading, so Habbox.eu was set up and the .com domain set to redirect to .eu for the time being while server was sorted.

It still redirects to .eu every now and a again for me but its no big deal, its the same site, same content, same everything but different name.

We never just decided between us, "oh let's use a different URL from now on". The change was necessary in order to keep the site functioning while we had the server problems.

To you, the domain may mean nothing, but to someone who has been here since it was organized at the little blue plasto table, it may mean something. ;)

Ok I think this has gone on long enough.

Habbox.com will be around for the forseeable future and will not be turned into Habbox.eu. The content will continue to remain branded "Habbox.com" and so will the copyright information, the .eu domain is there for server issues only.

Just to clear up. Habbox.eu was used because the domain habbox.com had some problems which, until are solved we cannot have habbox.eu redirect to habbox.com like it used to be.

We cannot use the habbox.com domain to link to the new server until its problems are resolved which is why we have to use the .eu domain.

We obviously wouldn't randomly change the domain for fun ;).

Since both domains still link to Habbox itself as before, it shouldn't really matter.
