I was reading a article today in a newspaper about the quality of air in the aeroplanes you travel in.

Because it costs to compress air from outside, they use the air that the engine uses, so your getting the air that is shared with the fumes - which goes through to the vents. Now, It does say that airlines should maintain the vents to reduce this, however the law does not require this so you can guess that they dont.

This happens on 99% of all planes across the world.

Then it said something about how a pilot was doing a flight and he had to do an emergancy landing because the fumes were so bad, and when he was in his car going home, he was so 'high' he couldnt find the key to start the engine because it was still in his door.

It's not poisonous lol...

It's not as clean as it was when smoking was allowed, now that smoking is banned they do not have to use as much fresh air so they recirculate.

Of course it isn't otherwise the planes wouldn't fly.

also at the tired comment, it's because you on the plane for xx hours and when your in a different timezone your bodyclock is out for a few hours it's called jet lag.

If it was any danger we would've kown about it years ago...

It's probably just the pilot trying to get some attention. Anyways, The Mail always blows things out of proportion

Speaking from experience (as it's my job) - air in the planes is NOT harmful to your health. Even if it is, seeing as I'm learning how to fly the buggers, I'm screwed. :P

This is funny. Many people travel every day on planes, you don't see them dieing over poisonous air though? When i been in planes, I never had problems breathing or anything.
