View Full Version : Should .EU really be changed back to .COM

I don't really in my own brief of mind understand on why the domain Habbox.eu should be changed back to Habbox.com when everything is re-sorted out, for starters .COM is for USA domain users and .Co.uk is for English as prooven from Hotmail and Microsoft. And the fact .Eu is implying all European country's I think its a fantastic idea, it really go's with the new government agreement with EU on the treaty signing. Could we not change back to .Com because .Eu is faster, more affective and plus more understandable.

Thankyou, Earthquake.

Edited by ---MAD--- (General Manager): Thread locked. The domain will be switched back once the problems are sorted. Theres no need for further discussion on this topic.

The new treaty is an embarassment to our nation and gives away what we fought for in two world wars.

Why was it changed from .com to .eu anyway?

I agree with you there.
Its sad to say it but at times I think if hitler took us over we would be better off and the scum would'nt get in to our country and get benefits from a system they have never paid in to. Lets build some gas chambers.
I bet the people who fought for us are turning in their graves.

server issues. when it's resolved it will go back to .com

I dont see what the big issue is? If you type habbox.com is still comes up. If you type habbox.eu, it still comes up. They said that it'd be .com when the server issues are resolved... so whats the big deal?

edit: omg earthquakes banned

So if it's going to go back, why is everyone arguing over it?

I don't really care what it redirects too, aslong as habbox.com works and it takes me to habbox.

[COLOR=Black]for starters .COM is for USA domain users
FALSE. .com, if anything, stands for any domain name. You get French, German infact every country have .com addresses. .com is global, .us is USA.

as prooven from Hotmail and Microsoft
Aye? One of the major reasons they put out .co.uk hotmail addresses was so people have an increased chance of having a decent email address. You can still get .com addies.

And the fact .Eu is implying all European country's I think its a fantastic idea, it really go's with the new government agreement with EU on the treaty signing.
... What? .eu implies that Habbox.com is a European website. It is more of a US/UK website... I don't see French, German and Dutch sections everywhere

Could we not change back to .Com because .Eu is faster, more affective and plus more understandable.
Affective... In what sense? Understandable? Hardly...

Habbox.com has always been known as a .com site. In fact, you can still use it as the .com site, I do because I saved it under the .com website in my favourites.

http://www.habbox.com/site//component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/

So it still works.

ALSO, it is apparently only temporary because for some strange reason, the techies (whou should be fired quite frankly) don't understand how to change DNS and how to change redirects. It takes 5 seconds.

I asked the question in another thread of why it had changed and Adzeh was kind enough to explain that it was for technical reasons and will be going back so that was the end of the matter but now earthquake wants it to stop as .eu lol

I'm pretty sure Tom & Jin know pretty much what they're doing ;).

I don't really care what the domain is aslong as it's not an rubbish free domain and still lets you acess the site via Habbox.com.

Because some people are way too obsessed. Then theres the people who say "IT STARTED AS .COM AND SHOULD BE THAT!!!" etc. even though its being changed back

Clearly not if it's taken a few weeks :S All you have to do is change the redirect link and the dns (if needed, doesn't look like it though). Apparently Jin has a history with being slightly useless. Last time the DNS needed changing he disappeared,, re-appeared, asked people how to do it, said it was useless, someone told him, he thought he found it himself, changed them.

How on earth can a domain name be broken, or does that mean they've lost the password to the domain name host?

You don't know the full situation with the domain yet you go on about how our techies should be fired. They have nothing to do with the problem and we have no control over the problem at the moment. The problem is on the domain companies side.

Don't always assume you know the whole story to things ;). There are some things you don't need to be told about. All you need to know is theres a problem, we are working to get it sorted and once it does the domains will be switched back.
