A shoutbox would open security holes and also strain the server. Thats the main problem.

There used to be one, and then another one on its own page. It caused severe lag and just got spammed. On a forum this big, it would be pointless as new messages would appear every second.

I can remember there been a shoutbox for a short time before but like people have said it will only get spammed and abused. If you want to chat use the spam forum, or the KKK thread for that matter ;).

With the average maturity level of this forum I wouldn't dream of putting one on here. You can see what happened when piss and ***** were unfiltered :rolleyes:

I don't think it would benefit habbox at all, just cause 'lag' and get constantly spammed with crap.

Despite it being a nice suggestion I have to agree with the majority that a shout box like this would cause major server lag and would just be abused, so really it isn't an idea I feel would benefit the forum. Thanks for your suggestion though. :)

What about having a new subscription like 'Shoutbox Exclusive' who could use the shoutbox, That would surely maintain a good mature level even if it doesnt if they get '3' infractions for abusing it they lose there right to have it back and will have to ether buy again or not use / see the shoutbox.

With the amount of people who use this forum, it would be hard to see the messages and would be hard to create a conversation.

Don't shoutboxes create alot of server lag, whether or not you see them, or have vBulleting upgraded their chat system? Last time Habbox Forum had a chat box it lagged really badly.

The only way you could do this is if you made your own IRC channel hosted by someone like dal.net or along the lines of that. Flashchat is good too.
