I made a thread in SPAM the title was: pm me
the thread said:
pm me for a surprise
Why close it for ROFL?

Looks like you had a few closed - can't give an opinion though because everything is 'removed'.

Depends what the 'surprise' is. If it was against the rules, then it may well be closed for that!
Should THAT particular thread be closed considering its in spam.
EDIT: The surprise is not againts the rules.

You know full well why I closed it - you were continuously making threads about myself with false rumours, then telling users to PM you so you could share it with them.
Only two of those threads I did that
The other one was the surprise one which was LEGIT!

I always think that a mod should always ask another mod/smod to close a thread if it involves a personal insult against themselves. Otherwise it does smack of nepotism or could even be seen as bullying in some eyes. This always used to be done. Just my opinion though.

Surely a thread making personal insults and threats to anyone on the board should be closed immediately, regardless if the moderator has rights in the forum? What was the surprise? If it was legit then it should be re-opened.

Well on the face of it Gomme it was more of a provoking thing than a personal insult - it is obviously a personal thing between the two of them so getting somebody else in to sort it would have been a much better option IMHO and would have confirmed that the user was actually targetting Jamie. Also I do not understand why the contents of the post/thread have been 'removed' as this is not done unless it is pretty inappropriate or bad swearing. Perhaps we could be enlightened on this as again it could be seen to have been done to 'shield' something that could be seen as not being right.

Staff members are nothing special, but besides that - if the thread actually said something and not just 'pm me for a surprise' then i'd agree with you. You might 'know' that the surprise has something that is directed at you but theres no proof in the actual thread.

If it was suggesting insults between two users against REDNECK, then he hasn't got full power. If it was throwing insults between two members against REDNECK, which it seems to be, then he can close it.

Agreed but a mod has to be tougher than that if it is about him otherwise he will get continually targetted and quite honestly you get used to being insulted so waiting for sombody else to close it isn't the end of the world and shows you can deal with users in an impartial fashion. It doesn't seem it was insults anyway just provocation. Jamie just seems to bite on every occasion so is an ideal target in that respect. :)

What annoys me is that this user was permenantly banned on his previous account, and he's come back just to break rules and start false rumours about other forum members.

Well telling members about his previous banning history is quite undiplomatic if not forbidden and saying that he spreads false rumours is hardly complimentary and some would say insulting:S

I think discussing ban reasons is forbidden but not their ban history.

Jamie perhaps you could get a Smod to independently confirm that he did insult you in the closed threads because that would clear the whole thing up. An Smod or higher could see the text that was removed as presumably you issued a warning or infraction? :)
