That plane is pretty legendary, I remember doing extensive research on them in the Summer for a project. Very little is actually known about the plane's as they're all very secret, they've only really been seen in the public once.
The plane always looks like a cartoon for me, making it even more deadly :P
nah bit of a shame really... they have another 20 a so though :P

It's a shame, they're a feat of engineering and in 20years there's never been an accident or loss to enemy fire - a pretty good record I'd say.
But, both pilots ejected safely and no-one on the floor was hurt.

It serves them right for spending so much on something that isn't really all that necessary

It serves them right for spending so much on something that isn't really all that necessarySo your saying, if you could afford to buy a really nice sports car, you would refuse and buy a cheap car for a few hundred quid as it could still get you from A to B. Because of course a sports car is wasting money on something that isn't all that necessary according to your rule.

I would buy a cheap car as it means more money for more important things
anyway
I laughed at this.
Lol when there saving your country from getting blown up then tell them that.
Because if you want to survive. Then the future isn't cheap.

You spend so much money on the best technology to defend the country. They don't just use the money and build them for nothing you know. They have a purpose and do a very good job. Also it benefits the allies of that country. For example; UK.

At least the US actually spend it on defence and other things rather than giving to Africa, EU, China, India and so on.

a jet is the least of our problems then. there's $100,000 spent per minute on the iraq war. there are at least a hundred other things you should point out for "stuff that isnt necessary" before this :/

Thick? How could they be thick when that plane is top secret? This is like its first crash in over 20 years. The plane is worth the money and does a good job, i rather have money spent on defending the country.

You will be one of the first we will sacrifice to the Russians for torture when these planes don't exist because of people like you. They have a range of 6000NM without refueling, meaning they could easily get to the UK to defend us pretty damn quickly. We are allied with the US, what's theirs is ours and what's ours is theirs.
And to Relax, your computer isn't all that necessary, its just a comfort item that makes our lives easier, better throw it in the bin or mail me it :P

Back in the '80's when Russia had nukes pointed at Europe, this plane could easily penetrate the Iron Curtain and deliver a payload directly at Moscow or other major cities before the Russians could hit us.
It's technology paved the way for modern day fighters which can eliminate SAM sites, clearing the way for further air support to aid troops in combat.
It was quite necessary. Ignorance, however, isn't.
& the £825mil to India was to boost it's economy and increase trade.

So Britain which has problems of it's own should give money to countrys which can afford a Nuclear arsenal?
