Trying to be like you (poem)

I’m just an ordinary guy,
But it seems you want me to die,
Trying to keep you at bay,
From day to day,
As you sneer at me,
I’m scared of who I want to be,
‘Cos it’s hard to be me when I’m with you,
‘Cos I can’t do what I want to do,
And I’ll try to fit in,
‘Cos trying to be me seems to be a sin,
So I’ll try and be like you,
I suppose it’s all I can do…

It seems that people can't accept you for who you are,
So when you feel outa place - just go on strong - cos you you are is who you are.
