Knife & Fork Pet Peeve

Quite random, but whenever I see people eating using a knife and fork these days, they all seem to be using them incorrectly, and it really bugs me.

Holding his fork like a spoon. Too many people do it, and it's just bad. Don't their parents tell them etiquette?

Does anybody here eat like picture 1, I'm guessing a lot on here do. CHANGE YOUR WAYS.

I do it the opposite way round yet im not left handed?

Whether you are right or left handed, the knife should always be in the right hand, and the fork in the left, and you should always be in the position of picture 2.

That's weird, I hold them like the second. The top one looks difficult, it's like writing with a pen and holding it at the top.

i eat like in the first pic and theres rules about eating? as long as it doesn't go all down the front of you why would it matter

I am left-handed and I use my fork in my left and my knife in my right. I don't do that because it's the "correct" way but it's the way to me that feels most natural. It is a bit silly getting annoyed over the way people hold their cutlery though :S

I use it correctly, and other people doing it does bug me for some reason. I just hope they never embarass themselves at a dinner party :D

That's very pet peevish :P If I am eating with a knife and fork, picture 2 normally appears, but if I am scopping stuff onto the fork then it'll probably a be a bit like picture 1. If I am eating something which only uses a fork, then the fork will appear in the right hand.

ANd i sometimes hold my fork like a spoon if im eating something like mash potatos
