its nothing to worry about...all thats happening is that the limewater is reacting with the acids in your stomach and probably going to cause you to spontaneously combust

Thank god that wasnt pure calcium hydroxide.
As long as it's lime water then you should be ok, it's used in the making of tortilla wraps

it all really counts on the consentration of the Lime water if this was at school then No nothing is wrong with you .
its against the laws to allow children to use anything that could cause or damage themselves.
and chemicals have to be so weak to allow you to use them etc.
the strongest your ever get to use is Prob Hydrocholric acid with about 5 parts water and 1 part Acid.
or maybe if your lucky then Potassium,

that's crap, we used potassium loads so it isn't really lucky
and no, we do use things that can harm you, we used chlorine and a few other things.

whoever told u that was wrong cuz we have used chemicals which could cause damage 2 us. u just have to use the correct equipment and safety measures.

for a start that all depends on what year at school your in the higher up you are the most trust you get meaning the more "dangerious" chemicals & compounds etc you can use.
however i doubt you used Potassium as even i wasnt allowed to use it when doing A Level science last year. :O:S unless im confusing them with another thing from the perodic table.
whats the one that reacts with the water/sweat on your hands and bursts into flames?
Sorry i dropped Science after last year :P

Lime Water isn't a dangerous chemical? I don't think.. all I know it's use is for testing CO2.

I'm an IB Chemistry Student, and Lime Water should do you no harm. You aren't allowed to use certain chemicals in labs without supervision from a qualified teacher in the subject of Chemistry. We've used stuff like Iodine - which is Corrosive. If inhaled it can do a lot of damage. Chlorine Gas (Mustard Gas) is another thing that we've used in the lab. Dangerous but allowed to be used in situations under strict control and supervision.

most chemicals you handle in key stage 3/4 are relatively harmless, most acids you use are so dilute they are about the same strength as vinegar (yes vinegar is an acid)
i think the most dangerous chemical ive handled is something like 15M HCL <- v nasty stuff, i accidentally spilled like a couple of drops onto the floor and it ate its way through a floor tile.
so yeah, if you wanna use the really dangerous chemicals...do chemistry at uni :D
