EU fines microsoft 1.4 billion dollars

I cannot believe it. 1.4 BILLION dollars. This is off course on top of the fines from July 2006 and March 2004.

I can't really understand why this has happened just from looking at the text, but fines such as this one and the one where McLaren(?) got fined for spying on other F1 giants are simply outrageous.

I don't get the reason why :S Loads of companies have these anti-competitive issues. Some European countries don't like Apple iTunes because that's anti-competitive. It's madness!

the fine is nothing to them, the company as a whole is woth an estimated $300billion. so its like using a 20 pound note to pay for something that costs 10p

Usually they would freeze the companies products but if they did that to MS I am pretty sure there would be a huge economic problem for EU countries? Most businesses rely on MS office and MS OSs.

I really wish I know where this money will go.
