View Full Version : Earthquake...
Today when the EarthQuake struck... My fan fell off above my head and hit me on the head... the blades we're still spinning and it cut my head...
It stings like hell and my head has swollen all around. It wasn't till lunch till it came up though.
But as I left my to go to school. I shut the backdoor and the tiles fell off my roof and smashed infront of me.. And I am really being aware of the roofs...
When England had that really strong winds few years ago a tile fell of my mates house and went through his roof of his car and out the other side...
But I don't want to be all secure 24/7 and want it off my mind...
And the cut... Should I see a doctor? or put some anti-ceptic cream on it?
rep+ to all help

See a doctor. The fear/paranoia of being struck again should wear off within a week or so. :)

Get someone to check the cut and put some cream on, make sure it doesn't get infected and see what happens. If it does get infected or something then go to the doctors. Unless it's really bad already then I'd suggest going straight away.
As for your houses, you should just be careful when your walking around and if the amount of falling ceilings pieces gets worse, tell your parents and have someone look at it.

Stick some anti-septic on the cut and you'll be fine.
And about your paranoia.. Sever gales are predicted for the weekend, better take an umbrealla out with you. Don't want any tiles falling on you, do we now?
An Umbrella won't stop a footlong tile from hitting me :(
Metoffice shows no warnings either :o
The cuts gone down anyways and its not stinging anymore...
And too post "I'd love to be hit by a spinning blade/fan w.e"
Omg lols. it kills and its doesn't help when you wake up you hear car alarms and rumbling... Its like the world is ending

But the swelling has gone and its not stinging anymore.
But i have secured the fan now to the wall with nails :D
And about the tiles... Last night tons came off the roof with the strong winds so I'm hoping thats them all...

surely if the fan were to detach from the roof, not only would there be a hole in the roof of which the wires are fed through but the wires would also be frayed and broken, leaving an electrical hazard?
When you re-attatched your fan to your wall did you personally re-route the wires and plaster the hole in the ceiling?
get better soon.
