Getting a 360.

After nagging my parents for ages, they gave in, getting a preowned premium with 8 games,. 3 controllers for £200 ;D

I was just wondering, as its preowned and premium, can i still get a 1month free trial?

I'm not quiet sure if you get 1 month free. And if you have trouble setting it up to the internet if you're getting one of them wireless adaptars which are 10x better. Go on your PC then go to run > cmd > then type ipconfig /all and you have all your gateway details and stuff ;)

All xbox 360s have 1 month trials, I think you're limited to 3 per xbox and 3 per harddrive though

I hate tripping over ethernet leads and maybe people don't have routers in there bedroom which is probably where they want their 360 :)

That's not better that is exactly the reason why wireless networks are rubbish, they're slow and rarely secure

Tripping over ethernet cables is your own fault really, you need to organise it properly, I have a wired connection which all comes from downstairs, we have 3 computers and the xbox all connected to the internet up here and we don't trip over any ethernet cables, we also haven't got to worry about our connection being secure

@Kris Saints Row online is basically the standard stuff, TDM, DM etc. then you get like modes where you steal the cars and park them somewhere to earn money and stuff, one where you need to get the pimp hat and you score points for your team by wearing it longer than the other team

I think TDM and DM in SR is rubbish, the other modes are basically the same with objectives really though

My wireless network works perfectly , I think it all depends on your internet. My dads set it up perfectly so that theres only one obstacle between my 360 and the router , signal is 100% most of the time.

Before you get wireless though you should check its compatible with your router, as mine isnt somehow, its a belkin N. but Game wont take it back because its not "faulty". But it dosent work lol. I can log on but my games lag to buggery

Yes it's better for you as you're one of the people that is the reason wireless is so bad, it's too unsecure, even if you have passcodes and all that people still manage to connect, it's slow aswell, even 100% signal isn't as fast as wire

It does, My old normal xbox was chipped, iveogtlike 300 games on it, but iove heard that if your 360 is modded, its getting a ban hammer layed down.

But ive heard also, you'll only be caught using modded games, Which i dont plan to do. So hopefully ill be safe.

I think modding unlocks the xbox so it's region free I'm not sure but the main purpose is for free games, if you're paying £200 for a chipped xbox you're basically paying what you'd get for a premium 360 with real games and the ability to actually play online, chipped ones normally get banned after a while and end up on ebay afterwards

I don't think you can get banned for playing real games on a modded console, I think it only matters if you play copies because they can detect that easier, I'm not sure though :S I know another habbox user has a modded console and he isn't banned yet I don't think but he might just be lucky, he has 30k gamerscore so I think he's been lucky so far xD

K, i was gonna buythe xbox and downgrade itto normal xbox firmware, butthen it'dcostme £30, so thatwould be like, £230 alltogether, and then no gamesseeing as the games were copied, so i wnet into town with a mate,popped into game for a nosey, seen a new xbox 360, memory card, Halo3 & GoW2 so i went home, asked my dad, bought me it, i kinda hinted on CoD4 aswell got that too. People have tried to make one but the threads kept turning into arguments and stuff. I'd recomend getting Frontlines, it's just came out today and I've seen videos on Youtube and it looks extremely good. It's like Battlefield. I'm getting it tommorow I'll tell you what it's like :)
