View Full Version : As heavy winds battered Norwich and Sprowston in the early hours of the morning...

There have been many fatalities, such as my fence. Last year during the gales the fences on the left side of the property were torn down, and my dad spent about 3 weeks fixing the rotted wood.

At about 1:30AM GMT I was watching family guy, when the wind picked up and the distinct sound of roof tiles rating together drew my attention to the outside world. It was pissing it down, looking around I saw car alarms and house alarms going off everywhere due to the high winds, and looking down I saw the fence had collapsed onto my mums brand new Mini Cooper S, her pride and joy, so I wrote a note and went to sleep.

I came down this morning, and having been told that her and my dad spent 30 minutes in the dead of night trying to get the car out of the drive, with dad holding the severly crippled fence.

In the morning, the whole fence fell over.

The fact that some dodgy weather one night did more damage than a mid sized earthquake is rather amusing.

I had strong winds, Plus I live in a 3 storie house and sleep at top...
So I couldn't get to sleep most the time...
Also since the Earthquake my roof tiles came loose and I could hear them sliding down and smashing.. Lol in the morning I check the roof and 5 tiles are missing...
A company was supposed to come and fix them yesterday, but they said its too risky with the winds picking up...

Cardiff had terrible winds. Quite a few doors were ripped off, and sheds fell over in my area.
