I wasn't quite sure where to post this sorry...

Anyway I remember the good old days when there was Habbo TV around, all of a sudden everyone just stopped doing it... all the websites closed down and I had no where to apply for a job to do my shows, and I went off it aswell. But recently, I've sort of had urges to start making shows again but there's no point really because there's no one who shows them on their sites. So could we try to revive HabboxTv, even if it doesn't have its own site, just a section on the main Habbox site, but still, I'm very eager to start it off again.

Again, sorry about posting it here I didn't know where else to post it xD

Well it got closed because there was no material for it and it wasn't ever used, I doubt it'd ever come back.

Lol I was HxTV assistant manager I left like a month before it closed down there were many reasons why I expect the decision was made mainly because it was unactive and there was lack of interest but I'd also love to see it come back at some stage in the future

That's my point, I want to make new material, and hopefully encourage others to aswell.

Fast replys btw :P

Thats good =] but like others have said it's very unlikely unless they merge it with Habbox Live and call it Habbox Media or something.

Edit: by the way has that always been your forum name? I don't remember you lol

I doubt it will happen but you'll have to wait and see what managment have to say :).

Yeah it has been lol, I really dont like it. Its quite noobish because of the 01234 part, but I used to have a habbo called cramop but I forgot the password and didnt put my actual email in the signing up process.. silly really.

Anyway back on-topic, I wouldn't mind how HabboxTv came back, even if as you said merged with Live, or with the main site. I really wouldnt care, I just want to get involved and help. It could help attract more people to the site aswell if you think about it.

I would like it if videos were really good quality, like they walked across the room, spoke etc. Something like Habbowood.

Judas
03-03-2008, 09:18 PM
I tried to do something like that once, but it was really difficult, ecspecially (sp?) if you are filming it by yourself, because you have to edit out switching between windows, and checking script (because I have a bad memory). Also, at the end its a very big file size, and difficult to do alts.

Theres a slight chance we might bring this back on a section of the Habbox site. ;)

yes I remember that being the one of the main issues towards the end people started demanding proper animated shows rather than the standered 'next' click ones =]

I just cut out habbos, made scenes and props then let Mentor edit them. The demo worked ok, but file size definitely an issue.

I've been sitting here thinking up some ideas for shows. I may make some pilots to try and impress over the next few days.

Bring it back! I loved HxTV! The Streets was amazing. I remember the time I sat down and clicked The Streets for the first episode and I was hooked. I'd certainly visit if it was brought back with some more shows :) Keep the aspect the same too! Where you have to click next to see the next scene to do slow reading :(

Judas
04-03-2008, 04:37 PM
See, the people of Habbox want it back! If it does, and my show goes on it, it will be next button for that reason, slow readers. And file size, as I've said.

Also, about The Street coming back, I doubt it will. I dont think Lerf is interested in making it anymore, I seem to remember at the end of HabboxTv, episodes weren't being released on time, and I just dont think the amount of committment was there that was when the show first started.

Also, if any help with management is needed, I am willing to help in any way I can.

HxTV was great for a while but then it slowly declined. Partly down to the managers, partly down to staff but mainly because people lost interest. The demand for properly animated movies made it hard to do the shows. The "next" button traditional flash files are hard aswell and in the end people realized it was hard and time consuming and no more got made.

Be interesting if it did open again.

Judas
04-03-2008, 05:52 PM
I never really had a problem with the next button style. It didnt take up much more of my time... I would be happy to do flashing for people's shows because it doesnt take me long.

Mrs.McCall
04-03-2008, 06:01 PM
Yeah, but it becomes hard if you've got people pressurizing you to bring out a new ep every week... it can be tough.

I think if HxTV did come back they should eliminate the roles of flash artist, script writers etc and just have people who submit shows. Nothing else, just those who make the shows because its pointless having a department that is based on ideas rather than concrete shows.

Judas
04-03-2008, 06:04 PM
I agree completely about the deadline thing, so what I thought is, before a series is shown on the site, the director completes all or most of the episodes before it starts showing. That way all the episodes would be released on time, and the director would get a nice long break, or time to think up new ideas for the next series. That's what I would do.

And I also agree about the flash artists and script writer ideas, I always thought that was silly, ecspecially the script writer thing. If you cant do it yourself, then you might aswell ask someone you know who can do it to do it, instead of having a department. The flash artists never did my shows for me before I could do it myself anyway.

I never really watched them as I didn't think the quality of most of them was good. I remember Skitgraves made amazing ones. But the others which were just like a powerpoint presentation was a waste of time.

From what I can remeber of it, it was down more than it was up.
It was always having a new revamp for the whole site which ment it was down all the time.

Like someone said above, they would need to hire just the person who makes the film and comes up with his/her own ideas, as it wasn't nessecary to have 40 in-active staff.

Thats my opinion anyway

Judas
04-03-2008, 07:21 PM
Yeah agreed. Could someone from Habbox tell us what is happening with HabboxTv please?

This isn't a cheap shot at John but I think he just kind of thought being manager meant he just got to sit back and wait for the shows to be made for him thats why I left in the end it was sinking faster than the Titanic I was in the process of making five shows at once (it's hard enough doing one a week) because we had like two directors and I think I only ever saw John upload one during the whole crises I remember I was developing a show called the Fansite the first episode seemed to go well but got snowed under with extra work because he wanted me to upload a billion old shows to the 'new server' or something ( I remember people describing it as UKTV Gold at one point :P) I actually remember many arguements with Joey (Mrs.McCall) and LeKevin or w.e his name was because they ran a rival website and they kept calling us lazy and in my mind I agreed with them John was lazy but was annoyed my hard work wasn't being reflected well because I had so much to do at once.

agree'd with your whole post there Joey =] I used to do my shows with out script writers anyway but got my brother to flash them for me.

I used to watch HabboxTV quite a bit, but the thing is, there's a lack of people who want to watch it. If the graphics team & vid team worked closely, it could take off pretty well.

usersubmitted vids would also be great, damn it sounds like a habbo version of youtube. sounds mint.

Thats a randy idea! But they'd have to moderate it but meh!

He left it in a state because he deleted alot off the server before he left. To be honest, it was struggling long before Jack even came along.

He stopped bothering. The site wasn't updated for 3 weeks at a time. Lerf decided to take some time off as did Kobi so HxTV's two big shows stopped releasing new episodes. With no updates and no news, everyone gave up.

The layout(s) were crap, I agree, once I had coded the system I had to get another webdesigner working for habboxtv who coded it to intergrate it as it was coded crap. (No offence to the person)

The layouts were awful, and I think they always have been. I hate HxLs layout, it's too orange and needs some more colors and gradients. It's like someones made it in Frontpage to get a pass in their GCSE IT...

I am willing to start it again, whether I would be allowed is another matter though. I can do the design and the PHP coding for the show manager, so it's a possibility! ;)

Mrs.McCall
05-03-2008, 08:18 PM
If it came back it'd need a manager who was dedicated and knew what they were doing. It'd need some dedication from management itself, willing to give it time to get a new layout.

It'd need to get some videos submitted. Directors shouldn't be allowed a position unless they have 3 videos maximum and then a strict policy of deadline should be enforced. 3 strikes and you're out.

I'd bring it back with a blog aswell, one big problem was that nobody ever knew what was going on with the site!

If I were Habbox i've bring it back as HabPics rather than HabboxTV.

Pyroka
05-03-2008, 08:19 PM
Well thing is, this could actually be done easier than you think. A youtube account which can host submitted videos would be good... But hey, that's just my two cents. It sounds great with all these ideas coming up, and I always used to watch the Hacker series. It just... compelled me LOL.

The only problem with YouTube is that account sharing would be necessary, or you would have the worry of people modifying the shows after they have been uploaded. The quality is also terrible. As said, I'd be happy to do it...

Yeah, thats a worry. I think you need to think this through with your team, if you wanted to get HxL restarted. I'd like HxM to be the name though, HabboxMedia sounds so much more... professional. Start programming laddie, start programming. ;)
