they are, the SB line are nike's skateboarding line
my friend has a pair and he says they are just as good as DCs/Adios/whatever brand is the best for skateboarind, i forget which one he said.
plus because they're nike, they'll come in about a million different colour combinations

I've had one pair for a good 3 years and I still wear them, they are in good condition!

Yeah, these type are meant to be chunky because there like basketball shoes and they keep you warm :)
