Hello, I have came across http://www.themafiaboss.com and took a look around. I have noticed that they have very good images, but they look like ones from a game I know on the PS2/Xbox called Mafia. Are these their own images or are they from the game? If they are from the game, wouldn't that be a copyright infringement as they are gaining profit?

Yeah but it's exactly what you did so please don't post claiming it's copyright when you did it.

If I am right, he put a copyright notice stating that the images were from the came.

Still doesn't give him the right to use them does it?

yea he has to ask permission from the game creator you cant just have images unless the images are open source such as habbos

Personally I don't see anything wrong with what he did.

He hasn't claimed the images to be his own and by showing that disclaimer, he gave credit to the company that the image is copyrighted to.

He has to ask permission from the game creators to use their images. If not he can be sued.

Unless he sells the images I don't really see any problem?

There is no such problem exactly, but he has to ask the creators to use their images. He clearlly did not as they would probably turn him down ;)

Erm.. excuse me? It is a question, I am not trying to get the owner into trouble. I was just wondering because if the owner of that site can do it, I don't see why I can't. Also, I removed my images because I asked friends if it was a copyright infringement and they all said yes. Finally, please do not tell me what to post, I post what I like.

I doubt they contacted the game creator, they wouldn't have had a reply for months :P
I got told that I shouldn't use the images for profitable stuff because they would be illegal. However, TheMafiaBoss are.
