As IP banning doesn't work because of dynamic IPs, how would you go about banning somebody like eg put a tiny piece of shockwave or flash, and do what habbo does, detect the shockwave/flash w.e ID?

The only thing you can really do is ban the user's ISP or subnet which is silly really :P

Oh, I thought I had something there, also Invent, I ended up listening to the guy in the furniture store for like 10 minutes yesterday, it's very catchy, but now it's stuck in my head, thanks.
Find out their host (like something.something.plus.provider.net) and ban it.

You could include a bit of shockwave on a page, grab their machine ID, and ban it like Habbo do.. I thought of that yesterday and was going to post it.
Would be a pain in the *** though.
At above, just reinstall shockwave, or delete one file (cant remember it) Gets passed it.

Yeh, thats what I was thinking, how would you go about doing that, if you do decide to could you publish it ;) Also the shockwave could read from a php file, making it easier to ban people ;)
Edit: but it's a far cry better than ip banning :)
Unless... are ipV6 dynamic?
