I think that Habbox now need to hire a group of people to bug test the new features properly..instead of sever technicians and mods doing it. As obviously, they can't look into the features as much as needed. [not being rude, lol].

But yeah, I think a group of talentend bug testers would help HxF a lot :)

I'm pretty sure Jin/Tomlegend/Just-one used todo things like this and secure any add-ons/hacks being installed but I do think it's a pretty good idea but the 'team' would have to be really trusted though.

But I would've thought they would have tested the Chat system A LOT, but evidently...they didn't and so the person who did find a bug and reported it got banned

Yeh, we need like a BETA team or somethin

Exactly, MAD just told me that they don't actually have a team of people to bug test things lol.

I'd do it if you want?
MAD should hire this team ;)

The thing is, its rare that Habbox have to have someone to test things in my opinion. I suppose it is a good idea however it depends how regularly they would be used.

I'd do it if you want?I don't think you have the extensive knowledge to test the stuff, I don't think I do either. :P

They should be well established members, i.e. Invent, Me, DaveTaylor and a load of other boffins from the tech section ;D

I agree about the established members part as letting new members bug test is a bit unsecure :P

Indeed it is, that is why it would be difficult to assemble such a team thus why most of this is done by senior staff that are already part of Habbox.

The issue is, senior staff don't know enough to prevent hacking, etc.

There were explots, Dave did one and told the mgmt about it, though he got banned (now currently unbanned).

Though it meant the exploit was showing everyone's passwords on the forum.

Dave found one to do with cookie injections and I later found one which let me access any account I wanted within a few seconds.

Odear. THats not good at all however I guess your quite talented to find them. I can only imagine what would of happened if someone from ***** found it and ''hacked'' Habbox.

90% of ***** have no idea on how to 'hack' or how to 'exploit' anything so I doubt it'd really matter if they found out unless it's one of their senior members.

And why is that a bad thing?

I guess your right however there are a lot of people even just web designers like simon who could exploit it.

i am only temp unbanned til Sierk decides to do something, and yes I had access to anyones password which for your information was MD5 encrypted and I didnt decrypt anyones password so stop with the hacker stuff as I do nothing wrong ¬_¬

Sierk's a decent and understanding guy so i'm sure he won't do anything other than thank you ;).

I haven't read through the thread so I apoligise in advance if someone has already mentioned this. If there was a 'bug tester' group the people involved would have to be very trusted so they don't exploit any possible bugs. Also, how often do Habbox really need users to test out their new features? Not very often really so I don't think a new group really needs to be implemented. If they were to release something new that could possibly be exploited i'm sure they've learnt from their mistakes and will ask people to test it first before opening it.

I think there should be Bug Testers.

I also think that you should thank Dave (and possibly Invent) for what they did, which was finding exploits so you can sort it out, for which you can open the Chat again.

You could easily decrypt them though?

How did Simon acess Sierks account if it was decrypted?

Also I agree with --ss--

I could be way off but as far as i'm aware the chat system used cookies to grab your login details(Username) from the forum and display it on the chat client via a simple post function , I'm guessing he just edited the cookie to other usernames so he didn't necessarily have to logon onto sierks account ;).

Tbh I say that they just replace the client with the the popular #habbox-chat IRC chat within a Java outlet as that is more sercure and you can always reserve names with it and make it so you need to use a password to use the name.

Sorry about the double post, but also the odds of HXF actually doing this are slim now due to the fact they probably won't bring out anything new, as they will be worried Simon and I do something.
