Password expires EVERY MONTH!?

I just got the password expiry thing. I think it may have been because of the chat system exploit, not sure.

Must of been, considering everyone had it. If it was for a month it would be when your account is at it's total month rather than at random. Bit of a beggar when you can't remember a randomly typed in number by heart :P

I think everyone was sent the your password expired thing so they ha dto change it. Mine said 18 days and someone elses said 4 so I am sure that is the case.

It'll be upper management. If hackers sent that out (which there are no hackers anyway), then they're proving themselves to be idiots considering they had the passwords infront of them.

Also, to clear up, there was no malicious hacker. Davetaylor was showing mad an exploit which he failed to deal with, so Davetaylor shown how easy it was. Nothing to worry about ;)

Correct, this is being worked on now and we hope to have this sorted ASAP. I had to reset the expiry for passwords for all user groups and I'm sorry if this has caused anyone any inconvenience.

You can switch between Password A and Password B :)

I know a place thatrequires you to change your pass each month and you can't reuse the last 24 passwords :rolleyes:

I thought HXF wouldn't allow old password's to be used, years ago it was like that anyway I think.

I still haven't remembered my password since I last changed it 98 days ago, thank-god Firefox does! When I came to look at it earlier I just realised what a cheesy and simple PW it was :P

I would say as I don't use it for anything else however I don't feel comfortable or secure saying it for some reason :P

It was one person and he told MAD about the exploit but MAD took no action, so Davetaylor exploited it prove to how easy it was. People are not aware that he didn't steal information and had no intent on doing so. He was making it obvious, for the good of the forum.
