Because football is the most primative sport at the moment when stuff like the ashes and six nations kick in well see what happens (we lost to scotland in rugby :( )

Nah it is simply because it is the most popular sport.
Rugby is very popular but not as much as football.

Rhondda Rebels are a basketball team. The best in the U.K. in womans. There are basketball teams in Britain.

I like ice hockey and I will be watching Blackhawks v Blue Jackets tonight.

That is rather silly,
a) I have access to a decent rugby league team living in the North West.
b) I think Union is better what with the fights and the scrums.
c) I used to play league for L'boro RLFC, I packed it in because it was one week playing rugby the other football and I thought 'Why am I bothering playing against a load of fat ***** who are blates not under 15 when I could be playing the game of the Gods every week.
