Hi,
I'm just wondering, why are most (if not all the forum skins) quite tacky or ugly?
There are loads of amazing designers on this forum who could create habbox some amazing skins, so why aren't habbox asking them? :S
Could someone tell me why?
Thanks,
Simon x

Mainly as Habbox as certain standards which require no or little template editing at all so in other words Habbox prefer styles which are either gradients or minor border such as Space Skin.
But honestly i like the styles tbh.

Yeah as hollywood said, went upgrading, we want it to be a easy as possible so the upgrades don't take long (therefore decrease the length of time the forum is down when an upgrade is avaliable).
Another thing is what you like may not be what others like. We offer a selection of skins whilst many other forums offer one and you have no choice. IMO as long as the skin is easily accessible and you can easily read whats written then its fine :).
Also, many of these people are unwilling to help out ;).

Well the fact is most people who make skins usually ask for money/payment and habbox can't exactly afford to pay everyone for everything.

exactly, so unless they're going to help then they should quit complaining...
Some of Habbox forum's designs are cool- I'm currently using the blue theme.
But i agree with Invent, i'm getting bored of those designs.
A good forum design is Theatredrome.com's forum

PS: I'm not saying that it's a good design just because i'm a Super Moderator there. But i really like it.

Creating Habbox new styles can take a long time and alot of people don't have this time. Habbox has always been seen as the sort of grandfather of the Habbo forums so things are generally always up to scatch. I've been there and tried it, I was asked to create a new style after been asked. However it was taking up too much time and I was unable to produce what was asked of me.
This is what I made during my attempt - http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/7461/skinfinxe4.png the buttons were just placeholders however, but I couldn't really be bothered with doing much more work on it as it had already take too much of my time.

I'm not sre that's true. I have seen sierk mentioning any left over money gets left in a paypal account and I' sure there is quite alot in there. But I don't suggest paying people for a template and skin, when it gets outdated when the new update comes about.
