The tata nano has ben released in India. I don't know the exact figues but this is the cheapest production car available and although it wont come to the EU india has a massive population. So, it this a great cheap car for the masses? Or another nail in the coffin for us in terms of climate change?

sure it's cheap, but is it worth it? The build quality is probably crap. I can't imagine it being very safe, it doesn't look to have a huge crumple zone, it looks tinny and unresistant to accidents. I wouldn't say it looked very nice, either.
Also, LOL at the pram wheels.

I'm sure it's somewhat better than the old, broken cars that the group that this car is aimed at drive at the moment..

I would never drive nothing like that, I bet I would die instantly in that. Doesn't matter about being green for safety...I'd rather walk then drive that.

What do you expect though?
It's cheap and simple, it's not going to be anything spectacular.
To be honest, I don't care about what car I get when I start driving as a teenager, as long as it has 4 wheels and gets me to where I want to go.

I feel you, but I have safety standards. Only if I'm using it local.

But the smart doesnt have a large crumple zone either, its just Built in a way that saves the occupants. Which this car probaily is too...

Video really proved how unsafe they are, I would use it locally like driving to the store and back but I would probably be scared because it's so little and it's basically a tight fit.
