This new series has been really disappointing. Its not as funny as others & the fact the characters are leaving doesn't help it.

This series has finished though. I reckon it'll be the last episode also. They've pretty much written off 2 characters now, although Donna could return at any point.

They've repeated storylines again also, teasing the bad wedding between Gaz and Donna (the first was in the pub with the cauliflower and orange and what not; the second with Jonny everywhere); Another one of them having a baby; The battle over who gets a job at the pub (first time round it was Janet); The fling between Gaz and Janet.

I'm not sure how they could continue, if it was to continue.

It wasn't exactly their fault that Jonny had to be killed off. Ralf Little left the show, it wasn't as if the writers purposley wanted to kill off the most popular character.

And to be honest, I think there will be anothere series. Mainly because on the outtakes show after it said "IS it the last series?" and all the cast were like "We say it will be the last one every time, but if people still watch it, then we still make it". So yaknow. I loved this series to be quite honest.

Bet he's kicking himself now though, he could of appeared in the live one since he was apparently in the audience for it? (reason I say kicking himself is because he felt he had too much going on with recordings like "Kate Modern" on bebo - which failed).

Was the outtakes show the same as the 1 they showed at the end of the 6th series? (before Jonny dies) Cos I've seen it before if yes and I do remember them saying that. But.. surely not. Unless Tim becomes a main character and the old barmaid comes back, then they'd be back up to the series original number (7, including Flo) - assuming Donna returns.

Yeah that's right!

The outtakes show was a new one that included all new outtakes and ones from series 7, and taking a look at the few things that went wrong in the live show (like them laughing when they shouldn't, and Donnas coaster trick failing). Tim really was a main character I guess, just as a character that could help support the cast as Johnny left. I don't know why Kelly left the cast, she was awesome.

I really didn't like the new series, there were only 2 real stories: jonny dying & janets subsequent depression and Janet & Gaz having if off every episode. That might be enough to cover 2 episodes, but not 8. Louise's baby could have been made into a full episode, Donna in London with Wesley would've made a good episode (since we don't see any of that at all). There were so many chances, but the writer decided to focus on 2 storylines for 8 episodes. The series just dragged on, like this post :P

Series 8 is confirmed to be happening and Natalie Casey hasn't left, so presumably Donna is going to come back with Wesley.
