At least 80 people have been killed in unrest following protests by Tibetans against Chinese rule, the Tibetan government in exile says.

Indian-based officials said the figure was confirmed by several sources, even though China put the death toll at 10.
The Dalai Lama called for an international inquiry into China's crackdown, accusing it of a "rule of terror" and "cultural genocide".
Chinese troops were out in force in Lhasa, Tibet's main city, on Sunday.
Hong Kong Cable TV reported that about 200 military vehicles, each carrying 40 to 60 armed soldiers, had driven into the city.
Loudspeakers broadcast messages, such as: "Discern between enemies and friends, maintain order." China tightly restricts Western journalists' access to Tibet and it is sometimes extremely difficult to verify what is going on.

God the Chinise gov is really strict. Pepole cant even have a proper social time. Strick use of internet over there.

Communism must keep it's people under control otherwise it can collapse very quickly. Nobody actually likes Communism/Socialism only the ruling class like it because they can stay upper class.

But unfortunatly, communism has worked very well for China, so it seems it's going to stay for a very long time.

If communism worked then they wouldn't have to supress their citzens. China is beginning to open to to Capitalism and within the next 20 years I believe China will become fully capitalist to keep it's growth.

So little idea. Communism is a compromise between the bourgeois factory owners, and the proletarian working classes to bring about a utopia where the proletariat working classes own the factories. Thats the simple analogy. Communism has never been put in place anywhere in the world. Both Russia and China were rural economies and so didn't have the right class systems to bring about communism.

The idea of communism is to bring about a utopia which is beneficial to all. Socialism is different again and generally works within the democratic system. Put to say there is an upper class is a falacy, if practiced properly each individual is equal.

The USSR & China were and are communist. Communism is Socialism in a nutshell. They both claim everyone is equal and preach everyone should give up their land but the rulers refuse to give up their royalty.

Communism is good in theory, but in reality it just doesn't work. China and the USSR were never real Communists anyway, more Socialists.

Communism just halts growth, unless it is done on a mas scale like in china. That is the only real example where it is good for economy. Small countries like Cuba don't develop very quickly
