Hi all
I have finally decided my Year 9 options, they are
Geography
History
French
Business Studies
Reserve - German
Now, considering I want to become a solicitor/barrister, can someone help me put these in the right order? I dont know how, probabbly History should come first but I'm having a hard time deciding. My mind is firmly set on Law when im older, so that wont change :)
Also, apparently, if you choose 2 options and the timetables for them overlap you cant do them 2. That could affect my career in later life, so what would happen there? Would there be no chance at all of me doing that?
Thanks all, and good luck with your option choices!

Year 9 options didn't seem that important to me but they are.
You definitely want law, so you'd be choosing History as top choice. You don't need a degree in anything to do law so subjects rarely matter. However, I suggest taking the subjects in this order.
History
Business Studies
Geography
French
(German)
Also, after your GCSE's, you may still think about doing law. If so, choose Government and Politics for your A levels if available and maybe even Classics. It's all your decision :)
Also, a further tip, don't limit your options too soon. I'd sya keep all areas open until you're a bit older ;)

i know u choose them in year 9, but aint they referred 2 as year 10 options, as they will be your options in year 10. saying year 9 options makes it sound like you will do them in year 9. if u get me.

If it's anything to do with the school this shouldn't happen. When we chose our options (last year) they had 2 sections for History, Geography etc, then another section for Graphics, Catering etc, then another section for Performing Arts, Business studies, Leisure and Tourism etc.
Lets say I picked Geography as option 1 and History as option 2 in the 2 sections for example. If too many people picked Geography as option 1 then they could either put me in section 2 (thus changing History to option 1 if option 1 History also has room) or if there is too many people in either of these classes they can make three classes (By splitting the lesson up into two teachers and having a class for each teacher). The only way you would have to do your reserve is if both these things didn't work out, or if they had to drop a lesson because not enough people picked it.
It's really hard to explain but if you're in the system you tend to work out the way the school has worked it. You shouldn't worry to much though. I remember worrying so much over my options and everything turned out fine.
Hope that helped and good luck with them!

At GCSE I took French, Drama, History and Business Studies. I wanted to keep my options open, which is what my subjects allowed me to do. Now I'm in Sixth Form, my options are more closed as I know what I want to do.
For my A Levels I do History, Business Studies, Law and English Lit.

It all depends on the teachers you're going to have..
Your grammar is excellent for your age, you must be clever.

Personally, i think you should not do Business Studies. It just takes up your whole life. Also if you want to do that after you leave school
you need financial backing because if you dont have that it will be very very hard. Take everything into consideration, there has been many rich entrenpenuers left school with nothing [in money as i mean] like Richard Branson. Nothing is never to hard, along as you really want it bad you can have anything in life my friend.:)
I want to go into Law to. 7 YEARS Study thou:@ But if you pass it, it will be good because you get alot of $$$$$$$$$$ out of it:P
Maybe you should be a social worker good $$$$$$$$ too:P

There's not much grammar in there to fail on.
I'm only in year 8 :) my sister studies law in MMU and I think she just took a wide range of subjects.

What they're choosing is their subjects for years 10 & 11. Then if you decide to go on to college or six form you have to choose from a load more subjects. Oh the fun that is. A great big book of subjects :(
