well, she's not really new, i have known about her for months, never cared much about her, she's a real-estate agent (same as my mom). i recently went to my dads house with my mom (his ex-wife) and when we get there we see a big black escalade in the driveway with "CENTURY 21" written on it, so my mom was like "GREAT, this won't be akward or anything, leave it to your father to make a situation akward"

So we go in the front door and dad welcomes us at the door and then this black woman comes out from the kitchen and was like HI, I'm MARLEEN", and I was like "Hi" and my mom was like "Hi". Before I go any further, I am not racist, I was just surprised to see my dads girl friend was black, especially when she had a pretty "white" name and my dad forgot to tell me she has a 15 year-old son, and they now live with my dad, and name is Justin. I was just surprised because it wasn't what I was expecting.

Anyway, my dad made me go get azn food with Justin so we could bond (vomit) he was all like ghetto at first, then I think he could tell I wasn't into it so he switched to normal, I guess he really likes my dad and he concideres him a father figure, since his dad is dead, so I guess he's pretty cool.

Marleen and my mom got on great, they discussed work and there was talk of her and Justin and my dad comming to New York to visit us and finding out about the house flipping business, and so my dad can meet her boyfriend, Jason.

It feels like both of my parents are comming together with other families to form new ones, and I actually really like it. Marleen is really nice and Jason is really cool, so no problems there. It actually feels like I have a family now, rather than a mom here and a dad there and a broken family. For the longest time I felt like I didn't have a family, but now I feel like I do, and it feels GREAT!

That's excellent, you see so many stories about people with crap step-parents/-siblings and such so it's nice to see that it can turn out fine. My own stepdad is great, obviously he's not my dad or anything but he doesn't try to be and we just let each other get on with stuff, it's sad when that's not the case with people.

Yeah, it's wierd that I actually like both of my step-parents (even though they aren't married). Jay is really cool and he's more like a friend/brother to me, rather than a dad.

It's good to know that your dad and your mom get along well after a divorce. It seems like you guys get along great. Good to hear ;]

Coudn't agree more.
My dads girlfriend doesn't try and act like a mum, because she knows it's just not right.

Not that shes out of order or anything, she's really nice, but she doesn't try to implace 'mother authority' if you get me.

Wow, a report of it actually working out for once, and not being a heated family feud.
