- Easy to use.

I prefer the type of chats where its built into the top of the forum (underneath menu bar, above forums), and you just... talk. I like the sounds/fonts etc. but its just not my type of chat. I think we should just have the forum built-in ones. :)

Chat demo
We have installed a demo version of www.123flashchat.com (http://www.123flashchat.com/) to see if people like it. The demo will kick you out every 10 minutes but that should be enough time to give you a rough idea of what the chat is like. We also want to see if it can handle quite a few people at once.

The url to the chat is http://www.habboxforum.com/123flashchat.php or http://habboxforum.com/123flashchat.php (depending which you are logged in on).

It should automatically log you in the chat. Please provide us with your thoughts on the chat in the feedback forum. If people like the chat, we can purchase a license and install it (obviously the real thing will not kick you out every 10 minutes :P).

It can be built in with the forum easily. This is just a demo and we wanted to see what people thought of it. The chat itself is integrated with vb as is - thats why you can use your vb username in there.

The option to send a private message is there, but when you send one it is actually public, which can be misleading.
That has been sorted :P.

The reason it isn't available to bronze members is to prevent people from signing up to the forum for the sole purpose of causing trouble on the chat.

I don't know, I'm not the GM. It could be because management feel that special features, such as the chat, should be earnt. Then there's the obvious reason that it will save moderators time.

Hmm, I don't think you looked at the price for the chat software ;).

All members can use the chat at the moment :).

It isn't, it was actually recommended by members that only silver+ should be allowed to use it.


There should be an option to override other users fonts with your own because it can get annoying when people use different colours and sizes etc.

Remember that this is only the demo, there will be lots more features in the final version and this could be one of them. :)

I dislike it, the interface is pants. It's flash, there doesn't seem to bed any moderation, and the sounds are pants. Yes I know you can mute them but I want to know when somone says something ¬_¬ just change the sounds? x]

That's probably what'll happen, I don't think its worth the £100 tbh. But its not my money :P

What I worry about is exactly how the chat will be moderated. I know I wouldn't be prepared to sit there for 2 hours+ staring at the chat screen waiting for someone to say a naughty word.

Nahh there will be moderators for the chat. They'll probably be able to boot users from the chat as well as caution/tempban/permban/ipban etc :)

well yeh, but like prof-alex said im sure there isnt any moderators that would want to spend their free time staring at the chat.
moderating the forums would be a lot easier id expect because the posts stay there. in a chat, the offending post could be gone withing seconds, and a moderator switching to the chat from something else would miss it.

The chat is a really good idea, it was pammed to hell at first but i think if it stayed people would grow tired of spamming and just chat.
