Jesus.
Woman gets foot trapped at level crossing and hit by train...two guys tried to free her but couldnt, then had to give up because of the train, of course
imagine what would’ve been going through the minds of those guys as they left her.
I read that yesterday >.<

She should've tried to take her foot out her boot
To be fair, she crossed when the barriers were down, she took the risk, and died.
i heard about this yesterday too, its horrible :(

I would have really felt so bad for having to stop trying to save her because I knew she was about to get hit by a train but like said, if she crossed when the barriars were down, it's kind of her own fault.

It says she crossed when the barriers where EDIT: down :)
Then got her foot trapped.
My bad.
I think I would of been going for undoing the boot, poor woman :( She was only 29ish aswell :( god, can't imagine if I was one of the men trying to free her, nevermind the woman who got hit!

Read it in The Mirror on way home from The Deep. Sad news this, I'd be well upset if it was someone close, or even if you were trying to save the person.
At above: It was kind of too late. The train isn't miles away, it's a few hundred metres from a crossing. So the driver could only use the emergency brakes asap.

Jonathan darted through the barriers and helped get her foot out – with the train just 25 FEET away.
Crossing ... train zooms past
He said: “I had her in my arms. She was safe. But her boyfriend screamed at her to get to the other side.
“I said, ‘Stay on this side’. But he told her, ‘This is my train, I’ve got to be on this side of the track’.”
i may be wrong but i read this as she got helped out then ran across again then got hit, in which case was definitely her stupidity

it takes ages for a train to stop..
it's a shame, and the hearts of the blokes trying to save her were in the right place.

i remember about 3 years ago, merseyrail came into my high school and told us that it takes the length of 20 football stadiums to stop. dont know whether it's true or not though.
that's a shame, but it's her own fault for crossing when they were down, cant imagine being the two men trying to help, they had good instinct to do so but y'know..

She shouldn't have crossed when the barriers were down. Silly woman.
Also, why didn't they just take her foot out of the boot?

A witness who helped the woman said in The Mirror y'day that they pulled her out of the boots, but she went back to try and get them. :l

I would have chopped off her foot if I could. Must be terrible for the two men.
