When you get cautioned your name changes colour on the page and people know you broke the rules and aren't very reliable.
It depends what you did on how long it stays like that, I don't think you can reduce the time you are being cautioned but it is not for ever.
When you get cautioned an admin will probably tell you till when you are cautioned. :)

You are cautioned if the administrators do not think you deserve a ban!
All your privleges will be removed:

Sometimes we also take some rep points off you

Admins generalyl caution you for 7-10 days
but sometimes we caution people for a month or longer.
