Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has been given a 5 year ban after publically criticising the PCB for not giving him a central contract. (He was already on a 2 year probation for attacking team mate Mohammed Sami with a cricket bat last year)

He's not allowed to play cricket in Pakistan, but is free to play for English counties and the Indian Premier League.

He's also been given a £27,000 fine.

Akhtar, when not injured, has the ability to bowl over 100mph - which i think is mesmerising! But alas, he needs to control his comments it would appear!

Plus, Shoaib has vowed to fight this punishment in court.

(Would of written this up earlier but had to go out :8)

He's a drug taking loud mouth who needs to learn to keep his mouth shut tbh, fair play to the Pakistani cricket board, was about time this happened.
