Hey there,

I've noticed that some new members bump threads regularly and so I had the idea of closing threads when the 'bump' period is active.

I'm sure there is an addon that can do this or prune or something.

Just an idea feel free to say its a stupid idea. I don't care :p

Jake.

Takes too much time really to do it manual and its not ofte nwe get bumpers only when they want to be banned/got banned and try and cause "trouble".

I mean an automatic addon.

It would require a hack and management don't really want to risk it!

I know you did, thats why i said the manual way would require too much time, as i thought you knew we idnt install hacks unless they are required as Minty rightly said (Why is there a up arrow but not a down arror? ^^^^) :eusa_wall

Meh its only an idea.

I had the idea to change non-www to www on HxF (might not be the only one) using .htaccess.

The redirect seems to be working perfectly fine though? :S

It would require a hack and management don't really want to risk it!I don't really think that's a valid point anymore considering we've got this "Force Users to Read a Thread (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=172155)" Mod, if we have that I don't see how this is any different.

I think we are looking at something like this - http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=130738

I wasn't aware it was a hack! Thanks for pointing that out! :)

I think its easier for moderators just to close it.

This idea would get annoying, threads being closed after a certain number of days.

Good idea though. :)

Well threads being closed after x days wouldn't be annoying for me as my settings automatically prune from the last 2 days also I have been here for a long time so I know what all the old threads say because I have read them :p.

Thanks, Just an idea though.

If it was set say thread locked after 2 months of no active posts then i agree it could be added ;)

Depending on the settings and how many bumpers we get.
